Have a sense of humility; acknowledging mistakes, sharing credit with others, and lifting up your team's' accomplishments
Feel a strong sense of ownership over your work, taking responsibility for outcomes and staying committed to achieving long-term, impactful results
Curious by nature; you ask insightful questions and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and grow your skills and knowledge

Maintenance and GIS Intern - Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument - Build Up Technical Internship Program
Epic 4.5
Program development internship job in Boulder City, NV
American Conservation Experience, a nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with the National Park Service, is seeking one intern to contribute to projects alongside NPS Staff.
For more information about ACE, please visit our website.
Start Date: May 2026
Estimated End Date: May 2027
*a 52-week minimum commitment is required *
Location Details/Description: Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument, managed by the National Park Service, is located on the northern edge of Las Vegas, Nevada, offering a unique blend of rugged desert landscape and rich Ice Age history. The duty station in Las Vegas provides easy access to the monument, which preserves thousands of acres of undeveloped land containing one of the most significant Pleistocene fossil assemblages in the Southwest. Members serving here will experience a site where mammoths, ancient camels, bison, and other Ice Age species once roamed, all while working just minutes from the amenities of a major city. Although the monument is still in its early development stages and lacks facilities such as restrooms, water, and visitor centers, its wide-open scenery, solitude, and remarkable paleontological resources offer a rare opportunity to work in a developing national park unit. Its proximity to Las Vegas allows for reliable cell coverage, easy commuting, and access to housing, groceries, and recreation, making it an appealing and convenient host location with truly one-of-a-kind natural resources.
For more information about Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument, please visit the NPS website.
Position Overview: The goal of this position will be to inventory and geospatially map all of the Monument's assets and collect data for the Facilities Management Software System (FMSS) in order to maintain these resources. If the duration of a PLC-eligible term is not long enough for Members to accrue 640 hours of service (~16 weeks), the total hours served at the completion of the term may be eligible to be combined with hours accrued from another PLC-eligible term to meet the 640 hours requirement. PLC projects also include specific eligibility requirements such as age and citizenship. Please contact ACE staff with questions about eligibility, or view general eligibility information on our website.

At VEG we find a way to say yes to the career you want in veterinary emergency medicine. This means transforming how ER works, from our open-concept hospitals, where you can handle emergency cases of every kind (even exotics!) to our immersive, customer-focused experience, which helps us give people and their pets the care they deserve.
This also means saying yes to creating the greatest experience possible for our VEGgies. Yes to working in an environment where you can find your place and feel valued for the amazing work you do. Yes to having unparalleled opportunities for learning and mentorship so you can grow where you want to go in your career. And yes to making an impact here in ways you never thought possible.
VEG is a 2025 and 2026 certified Great Place to Work .
THE PROGRAM

You won't just observe-you'll engage. You'll get close to the action, ask questions, try new techniques, and explore everything that excites you about life in the ER. From patient triage to diagnostics to inpatient care, you'll gain exposure to what emergency medicine is really like-and explore whether it's the future you want to chase. This is your chance to build a strong foundation, get inspired, and be a part of something bigger.
