Your Role

* Manage municipal water and wastewater projects including water source, distribution, storage and treatment, and wastewater collection, pumping and treatment along with treated water reuse.

Summary
The Project Engineer supports field activities and spends a majority of time working with the Project Manager supporting project administration on multiple small projects, or one medium to large-size projects. This individual will be a part of the Rabies Unit, supporting the characterization and evaluation of county rabies control programs in New York State via survey and analysis of the resulting data.
The incumbent's primary responsibilities will be assisting with survey design and administration, data analysis, and compilation and presentation of results. The incumbent may also support other activities of the rabies unit, including design and dissemination of outreach materials, producing data reports for local health departments, and cleaning and analysis of rabies post exposure prophylaxis data.
This individual will join a collaborative and engaging group and will learn how rabies, a fatal disease, is prevented daily in New York through collaboration between local health departments, medical providers, public health laboratories, and state epidemiologists. The incumbent will learn about other aspects of communicable disease surveillance and control, including respiratory, enteric, vector-borne, and emerging diseases.

+ Analyzes targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports
+ Alerts the Superintendent and Project Manager of project impact relating to resource management, crew make-up/size, etc.

+ Generates and obtains approval of technical records such as constructability reports, RFI's, inspection records, work packages and deviation reports
+ Coordinates with the Superintendent, Field Project Engineer, and Line and Grade to generate required as-built records
+ Manages work package closure, punch lists, and project turnover process and approves pre- and post-pour checklists
+ Collects necessary documentation to identify and determine impact of potential contract changes, disputes, and claims
+ Leads LEAN/SQP committee and identifies improvement opportunities
+ Ensures all subcontractors are in compliance with terms of subcontracts, generates, and obtains approval on impact notices as needed
+ Reviews and confirms reports documenting compliance (Company and subcontractors) with prevailing wage, workforce utilization, MBE/SBE participation, etc., and advises the Project Manager of issues
+ Interfaces with Safety and Risk Management in establishing clinics, managing first report of injuries, and assisting with co-worker case management
+ Follows Company Recruitment and Hiring Guidelines
+ May conduct new-hire orientation and process E-Verify (must be certified)
+ May coordinate tracking and completion of training requirements with project management
**Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years' of experience or 6 years' of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
