Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Switchboard Quality Inspector. Schedule for the role will be Monday-Friday and hours are 6:00am-2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $19.00 - $23.75 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

**What you'll do:**
The Switchboard Inspector will verify correct wiring, components, program controllers, and conduct electrical testing of switchboard products and components, as required, per applicable test procedure and/or component literature with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton's quality standards.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
- You will inspect and Hi-Pot switchboard product produced on all lines, according to inspection work instructions and in accordance with applicable governmental requirements, to confirm proper function of switchboards and electrical components, identify any product non-conformances, and ensure it meets customer specification, safety and quality requirements. Document inspections made on applicable checklist.
- You will use Hi-Pot, continuity test, and component-specific testing devices to perform electrical testing. Verify switches and circuit breakers function properly. Verify torqued connections using torque wrench, per inspection instructions. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures. (Hi-Pot)
- You will examine and verify mating structures (all structures in a line-up) as necessary to ensure that job is complete and field installation is problem-free (i.e. splice plate dimensions, kirk key coordination, etc).
- You will verify that any revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product, all documentation reflects the current revision, and previous revisions of documents are not used / discarded. (Process and Update paperwork accurately - POM, test reports, etc.)
- You will ensure that component literature and necessary product documentation are included with the job.
- You will thoroughly document and communicate non-conformances, which are critical quality records, and verify required rework to aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Communicate design errors to appropriate front end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework.
- You will ensure that suspect product is identified as such at all times to prevent unintended use.
**Qualifications:**
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Switchboard experience including bus assembly or wiring.
- Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
- Associates degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
**Skills:**
- Knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, and component functionality.
- Knowledge of assembled SWBD product designs (i.e. PRL-C, PRL-I, IFS, FDS, MF, etc.)
- Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Knowledge of Eaton systems such as Enovia, material management (DMM), Plant Order Manager (POM), MRP/ERP (AS400), Quality Tool (MQ1).
- Knowledge of applicable UL codes, NEC codes, regional utility codes, customer-specific requirements.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, MIs, Blow-Thrus, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.
- The switchboard product is a customized offering requiring that each job be thoroughly examined to understand the unique requirements.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

POSITION SUMMARY
The position is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet or exceed quality standards as well as all safety, environmental and ISO requirements. Implement continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing and QC environment.

MC Quality Inspector
Quality control inspector job in Sumter, SC
Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a MC Quality Inspector. Schedule for the role will be Monday-Friday and hours are 6:00am-2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $19.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

**What you'll do:**
The Switchboard Inspector will verify correct wiring, components, program controllers, and conduct electrical testing of switchboard products and components, as required, per applicable test procedure and/or component literature with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton's quality standards.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
- You will inspect and Hi-Pot switchboard product produced on all lines, according to inspection work instructions and in accordance with applicable governmental requirements, to confirm proper function of switchboards and electrical components, identify any product non-conformances, and ensure it meets customer specification, safety and quality requirements. Document inspections made on applicable checklist.
- You will use Hi-Pot, continuity test, and component-specific testing devices to perform electrical testing. Verify switches and circuit breakers function properly. Verify torqued connections using torque wrench, per inspection instructions. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures. (Hi-Pot)
- You will examine and verify mating structures (all structures in a line-up) as necessary to ensure that job is complete and field installation is problem-free (i.e. splice plate dimensions, kirk key coordination, etc).
- You will verify that any revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product, all documentation reflects the current revision, and previous revisions of documents are not used / discarded. (Process and Update paperwork accurately - POM, test reports, etc.)
- You will ensure that component literature and necessary product documentation are included with the job.
- You will thoroughly document and communicate non-conformances, which are critical quality records, and verify required rework to aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Communicate design errors to appropriate front end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework.
- You will ensure that suspect product is identified as such at all times to prevent unintended use.
**Qualifications:**
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Switchboard experience including bus assembly or wiring.
- Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
- Associates degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
**POSITION CRITERIA:**
- Knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, and component functionality.
- Knowledge of assembled SWBD product designs (i.e. PRL-C, PRL-I, IFS, FDS, MF, etc.)
- Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Knowledge of Eaton systems such as Enovia, material management (DMM), Plant Order Manager (POM), MRP/ERP (AS400), Quality Tool (MQ1).
- Knowledge of applicable UL codes, NEC codes, regional utility codes, customer-specific requirements.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, MIs, Blow-Thrus, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.
- The switchboard product is a customized offering requiring that each job be thoroughly examined to understand the unique requirements.
- Job is fast-paced at times and requires multi-tasking.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Pay and Hours

Depending on a county and if it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.

Summary:
Inspect parts, products and/or processes to insure conformance with standards. Inspects materials or products using fixed or variable measuring instruments. Checks for irregularities and defects. Compares product with parts list to ensure completion of assembly. Verifies specified dimensions on product or material by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspect each home when notified it is "Ready and Complete" by Final
Finish Supervisor. "Ready and Complete" means that all work and final cleaning has been done.
Utilize check sheet and inspect each room and exterior for obvious cosmetic defects.
Ensure that the unit meets cleanliness standards for shipping.
Follow-up on repairs- they will be continuous. RTS person will personally inspect each item written up on the check sheet to verify that a quality repair has been made and that no other damage happens during the repair process and/or any additional clean-up is necessary
Verify all ship loose material is loaded per ship loose check sheet.
Ensures all quality control policies, procedures, directives and systems within compliance of company and/or applicable federal regulations, continually strives to increase the level of quality assurance within the facility.
Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed in accordance with guidelines established by the Company in accordance with OSHA regulations.
