Overview of this Position:
The Quality Control Technician (I-III) supports daily production activities by performing environmental monitoring, water sampling and testing, and cleanroom support. Depending on experience level, the QC Technician may also contribute to deviation/excursion investigations, documentation revisions, and biologics testing as we expand our capabilities.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no type of sponsorship is available
• At least three (3) years of experience in a Quality Control environment (Senior Techs)
• At least one (1) year of experience in a GMP manufacturing facility
• At least one (1) year of experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Preferred Requirements:

• Experience writing or contributing to deviations, excursions, CAPA documentation, or investigations.

Responsibilities Include:

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements (to be considered you must have the following):
Computer with an internet connection

Depending on a county and if it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.

The production lines are running non-stop to ship products to our customers and to ensure quality products are being released for delivery, working weekends or holidays may be required to get the job done.
What you'll need
* High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. College Diploma or University Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or relevant science is desired.

Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic, housing, and patient-care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, FM is responsible for the daily operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds across University-owned and leased properties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough and objective inspections of assigned space types based on appearance conditions and APPA level standards.
* Utilize electronic tools (iPad, iPhone, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, inspection software, etc.) to perform and record daily inspections.
* Document inspection results accurately, including detailed notations.
* Capture clear, context-rich photos to support scoring decisions.
* Work with supervisors, managers, frontline staff, and other inspectors to ensure scoring consistency and team-wide calibration.
* Support custodial teams by sharing findings that help improve service outcomes.
* Perform time-sensitive additional inspections as assigned by the QA Manager to meet customer needs.
* Foster positive working relationships with team members and customers while remaining objective in inspection duties.
* Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and building occupants when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience: One year of relevant or equivalent experience.
* Preferred: Knowledge of APPA levels and custodial operations; ability to demonstrate keen observation and sound judgment under time constraints.
* Licensure: Valid driver's license with a zero or positive points balance, to be maintained throughout employment.
Additional Qualifications:
* Strong attention to detail and ability to make logical, objective, and consistent judgment calls.
* Willingness to learn and apply established quality assurance standards and scoring methods.
* Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to good attendance.
* Comfortable using technology, including mobile devices and software platforms.
* Ability to walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods while inspecting buildings.
Position Compensation: $18.50-$21.50 hourly, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position also offers an additional $2/hour for shift differential.
This is a full-time, non-exempt-level position with UVA benefits.
Selected candidates will be required to complete all required background checks prior to the first day of employment.
Physical demands: This position works in the field 90% of the time assessing the quality of spaces cleaned. It requires walking, standing, climbing stairs, stooping, observing, using both hands to hold iPad and enter data or take photos, etc.
Position Location: The position is based in Charlottesville, VA and must be performed fully on-site.
