JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Inspector will be responsible for maintaining quality standards by inspecting, approving, and recording the quality of incoming materials. This role will utilize various equipment to verify if materials has the correct quality and safety levels to be incorporated in the final product. The objective of this role is the prevention of poor quality materials from being utilized in our customer's final product. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. Obtain incoming raw materials for inspection prior to finished product testing. Approve materials through material specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing rework and waste, inputting data into JD Edwards. Ensure measurement equipment is operating and calibrating per operating instructions; report equipment repairs as needed. Attain quality and organization performance goals by completing and recording results as needed. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment and uphold all safety policies and procedures. Broadening knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Collaborate across departments to support additional warehouse functions as needed (Receiving, Putaway, Sorting, Repack, Kanban, Kitting, Shipping, etc.). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or its equivalent. One (1) or more years of experience in quality inspection or a related area. Forklift Certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience understanding and interpreting blue prints. Experience working in JD Edwards database. Experience in processing Pre Production Approval Process (PPAP) parts. Proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc. WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical Demands: Frequent Standing, Hearing, Talking, Visual, Manual Dexterity; Occasional Walking/Running, Reaching, Bending/Kneeling, Typing, Fine Dexterity, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion, Lifting/Carrying up to 35lbs., and Pushing/Pulling up to 50lbs.; Seldom Sitting, Driving. Collect and perform thorough inspections of molded and assembled components to ensure they meet specified quality standards, regulations, and safety requirements including: Visual Inspections Measurements Functional Test Methods Identify and document defects, discrepancies, or non-conformances in products or processes. Determine whether defects are within acceptable tolerances or require corrective actions. Record inspection results, measurements, and other relevant data accurately and in accordance with established procedures. Maintain detailed records of inspections, defects, and corrective actions taken to correct the issue. Operate various testing and measurement equipment such as coordinate measuring machines, vision systems, moisture, and force testing to accurately assess product dimensions and characteristics. Communicate with production supervision to align with daily production schedule. Collaborate with production team, engineers, and other stakeholders to communicate quality issues, recommend corrective actions, and ensure the products meet quality expectations. Collaborate with Quality Engineers for Root Cause Analysis investigations for defects or quality issues, aiming to identifying underlying problems and contributing factors to aid in prevention of future re-occurrences. Audit in-process records assuring process is in defined limits. Initiate non-conformance alerts and notify Quality Technician and/or Management Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent is required One year of experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with basic Quality Instruments such as; calipers, micrometers, height gauge, gage pins, and go/no-go gages. Must be able to read basic prints.
