Quality Technicians are responsible for assuring that manufactured items are made or assembled correctly, and that the products meet customer standards. Daily must communicate with all shift quality inspectors, shift managers, quality managers, process techs, mold setters, operators, and plant manager.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Document dimensional measurements; inputting data into quality data base at startup, during manufacturing process and last shot per standards.
Visually compare product against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in processes.
Provide technical support for production.
Responsible for declaring any non-conformities relating to the product, process, and quality system.
Responsible for performing daily process and product audits and supporting immediate corrections to non-conformances that can be corrected on the spot.
Reports/Records quality problems or findings to shift process tech and follows up with quality forms to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
If there is a problem and product does not meet specification, work with process tech to figure out the root cause.
Sort, rework product from containment area as required, confirming rework.
Oversee assigned presses, assist operators on part visual acceptability and process procedures as required. Relieve operators during break periods if needed.
Assist in the training of operators as needed.

Identifies issues during the inspection process and provides feedback to the requisitioning engineer.
Works within the lab schedule to ensure that inspection projects are completed on time and equipment is utilized efficiently.
Preforms verification of metrology equipment (ASME B89), maintains equipment performance logs.
Performs Gage Certification, CMM Gage R&R and Capability Studies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 6 years CMM experience with at least 4 years of programming experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A working knowledge of PC-DMIS CMM Programming Software and Microsoft Excel
A working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the interpretation of engineering drawings.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Detailer / Quality Support Technician plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional final product to our customers. The Customer Quality Technician supports the Customer Quality team by investigating customer issues, ensuring product quality requirements are met at upfitters through Vehicle Buy-Off (VBO) process, and driving corrective actions. This role focuses on analyzing customer feedback, performing inspections, and maintaining quality documentation to help improve overall customer satisfaction. You will lead initiatives that drive customer satisfaction, resolve quality issues at the upfitter, and implement continuous improvement programs based on real-world customer feedback, particularly from last-mile delivery operators.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the primary quality liaison between Harbinger and Upfitter, representing the customer's voice on product and service quality.
Lead investigations of customer-reported quality issues, driving timely, data-based root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
Train technicians and inspectors on inspection standards, documentation, and continuous improvement practices.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, service) to resolve quality concerns and communicate progress transparently.
Analyze field performance and warranty data to identify systemic issues and develop improvement strategies.
Conduct Vehicle Buy-Off (VBO) inspections and audits to verify quality compliance at upfitter and production sites.
Support deployment of the Harbinger Quality Operating System (HQOS) to enhance reliability, serviceability, and customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track field quality and vehicle reliability performance.
Advocate for the voice of the customer, ensuring feedback drives continuous improvement across production, engineering, and supply chain.
Who You Are:
3+ years of experience in customer-facing quality roles within the automotive, commercial vehicle, or EV industries.
Proven ability to manage field quality issues.
Skilled in root cause analysis, 8D, and reliability data analysis for continuous improvement.
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Willing to travel extensively (50-75%) to Upfitter sites.
Preferred: Experience with last-mile delivery fleets, EV systems, telematics, remote diagnostics, and new vehicle launches.

The ability to follow SOPs (standard operating procedures)
1+ years of industry experience in quality systems
2 years of experience or BS degree in scientific field
Working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, thermometers, calipers, analyzers).
