The automation equipment cuts and assembles rolls of finished LFD material into finished comb format. This position develops Navy planned maintenance procedures and calibration measurement requirements for Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) equipment installed onboard Navy ships. Position requires ability to perform reliability centered maintenance (RCM) in accordance with NAVSEA instructions, and produce specific Planned Maintenance System (PMS) equipment maintenance plans (EMPs) and maintenance requirements cards (MRCs). Position also generates detailed calibration measurement requirements summary (CMRS) reports in accordance with applicable Navy & DoD instructions. Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the Maintenance Developer Technician ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones. Key Responsibilities Project Execution: Perform Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis on HM&E equipment/systems. Each RCM project requires NAVSEA RCM Level 1 or Level 2 Certification prior to authoring shipboard PMS tasks within Navy's MIS 3.0 Enterprise Architecture [system]. Job Responsibilities: Supporting engineering initiatives and manufacturing operations and development processes Preparing new equipment for operation and providing support during implementation and initial production Working with maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment issues Participating in root cause analysis investigations as part of a team Following technical direction and communicating results Implementing process improvements and contributing to Lean initiatives Following all safety practices for handling materials and operating processes Operating with a safety-first attitude & being aware of potential hazards and applying proper care and consideration Utilizing computer skills such as Microsoft Office Using of various forms of PPE will be required at times; cartridge respirator, goggles, visors, gloves, aprons, Tyvek suits, etc. What we need from you: High School Diploma or GED 2-4 years of work in a manufacturing environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to write basic process procedures or instructions Basic computer skills; Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook Strong work ethic Good attention to detail Works well individually and as a member of a team Preferred: Associate degree in trade / industrial / engineering discipline, demonstrated progress toward a technical degree or equivalent military experience Familiarity, or direct experience with basic machining & fabrication methods, welding, and material handling Familiarity with high temperature processing equipment Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles Familiarity with industrial electrical and control systems What you'll get from us: 16 ETO days 12 paid holidays (including Winter Closure!)
