Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process and final inspections of reconditioned Genie aerial equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and operational performance. Working closely with core receiving, disassembly, blast, wash, paint, sub assembly, and final assembly teams, this role verifies that all units meet reconditioning specifications before progressing to the next phase or being released to the customer. What You Will Do:
Inspect Reconditioned Equipment:
Perform detailed inspections of boom lifts, scissor lifts, and components throughout the Genie Recon process-focusing on structural integrity, fit/finish, mechanical function, and operational safety.
Document Nonconformances:
Accurately record defects, inconsistencies, or rework requirements. Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and escalate critical issues to the Audit and Inspections Lead or QMS team.
Follow Checklists & Standards:
Utilize inspection checklists, SOPs, and product-specific guidelines to validate quality. Confirm that reconditioned units meet all safety and performance criteria before final release.
Support Production Flow:
Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure quality inspections are completed on-time without disrupting takt time or production flow.
Perform Visual & Functional Tests:
Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and operational tests (e.g., lift, rotation, drive functions) to verify unit readiness.
Assist with Root Cause Investigations:
Participate in problem-solving and corrective action efforts when recurring quality issues or defects are identified.
Support Operator Feedback & Coaching:
Provide real-time feedback to technicians and assemblers on quality issues, promoting a shared responsibility for quality.
Maintain Quality Records:
Complete inspection forms, photo documentation, and digital tracking logs to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred:
High school diploma or GED
1-3 years of quality inspection, mechanical assembly, or industrial production experience

Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.

Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

As a Senior Construction Materials and Testing (CMT) Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects. You will independently collect construction materials samples from various construction sites and perform tests and inspections to assess the properties and integrity of those materials, using specialized equipment and following established procedures and standards. You will document your findings and communicate results to project managers and other stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of construction projects.
You will also travel to various job sites around the Springfield area metro and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.
