MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES * Practice prudent quality principles and effectively apply formal quality training to identify and improve technical and systemic supplier quality problems. * Participate and contribute productively as part of Altec's team-oriented quality assurance, design, manufacture and customer service/support efforts. * Communicate with supplier, Altec associates and customers on issues of technical specifications, product design and operation as appropriate * Lead and participate in on-site and teleconference improvement and problem-solving meetings with suppliers and Altec teams. * Analyze supplier performance data and drive improvement activities. * Train suppliers and Altec associates in quality related methods and systems. * Audit supplier's quality systems and drive associated corrective actions. * Manage supplier corrective actions using Altec's Supplier Portal. * Review and approve supplier new products and changes using PPAP and other change management techniques. * Keep accurate and detailed records of supplier performance tracking, meetings and communications. * Operate with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment. * Know and apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the quality field. * Utilize Lean principles to improve our products and processes. * Manage various sizes of Altec projects. * May act as Team Lead * Champion corporate-wide containments and act as a liaison between local plant resources and suppliers EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: * ABET EAC certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master's Degree in Engineering * Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an engineering role after earning the Degree in Engineering * Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience. * *Coop, Intern, Temp experience does not count towards the requirements * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision * Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying Experience Level Adjustmnt Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.
