The Role We Want You For
The Senior Project Engineer will be based on the construction project site and will provide high level support to the project staff to ensure quality and timely execution of design-build projects from design to completion. These phases include: Scheduling, subcontractor buyout, cost reporting, preparation of subcontracts, the handling of owner coordination, construction quality oversight, and project closeout. You may run smaller projects on your own, mentor Project Engineers, Summer Construction Interns, and take on the additional responsibilities to become a Project Manager.
The Specifics of the Role
Participate with project team and preconstruction services in development of a Project Chart of Accounts.
Coordinate with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan.
Assist Superintendent in the management of subcontractors.
Maintain understanding of the Clayco/Owner contract.
Oversee the submittal, change order, and pay request process.
Assist in generation of project costs and Job Cost Report.
Contribute to the analyzing and forecast of quarterly Total Cost Projection reports.
Monitor and record training of all staff personnel.
Monitor project labor.
Report and track equipment needs.
Assist preconstruction services in bidding projects.
Implement applicable safety, EEO, and Affirmative Action programs.
Participate in the project's quality process.
Contribute to schedule and project close-out processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related.
3-7 years of experience managing construction projects ($5+ million) ideally design-build.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology.
Previous experience leading a successful project management team.
Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and scale multi-floor scaffolding.
Ability to lift objects of at least 50 lbs.

You will engage with all aspects of our transportation practice and associated experts around the globe, including roadway, traffic, multimodal, transit, planning and design, structural / bridge design, bridge inspection, construction management, aviation and more.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide strategic support to our business development and project pursuit efforts, as well as lead and organize the work of a technical team in the planning, design, and construction phases of transportation projects for clients. Your Key Responsibilities
Traffic Engineering and Project Management:
* Provide mentorship to a team of direct reports for the development of scopes of work, level of effort estimates, and project schedules
* Provide project technical delivery oversight and QA for a range of transportation and traffic disciplines, including planning, analysis, design related to roadways/highways, intersections/interchanges, and associated facilities to meet local, state, and federal requirements when applicable

Qualifications
2+ years of electrical experience/knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as a Project Engineer with Commercial, Institutional and/or Industrial projects.
Experience preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders.
Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
Knowledge of NEC and NECA codes and TIA standards.
In-depth knowledge of the NFPA codes and has strong problem-solving skills.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of Company and industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
Knowledge of base principle of scheduling, project management for construction and electric materials is a plus.
Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam, Accubid or other estimation software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image.
Demonstrated track record of leadership and project success.
Ability to work in fast-paced setting.
