Product Founding Engineer
Redo
Research and development engineer job in Draper, UT
Company: Redo is reshaping the entire post-purchase experience in e-commerce: marketing, order fulfillment, support, returns, and beyond. We do this through AI-native technology and pro-merchant pricing that aligns incentives, not extracts value. Based in Draper, Utah, we're growing quickly and looking for passionate builders to help us scale. Join us in delivering exceptional customer experiences at every touchpoint.
Title: Product Founding Engineer
Position Overview: You're the technical founder inside a funded business unit. You co-own the product along with a general manager and designer, and are responsible for bringing the product to life - from architecture to implementation, from requirements to delivery. You lead by doing. This is a rare role: equal parts product thinker, leader, and builder. You will make key decisions across people, product, and technology. Like any founder, your upside grows with the business; as your product gains revenue traction, salary and equity increase to reflect that success.
Responsibilities:
Own the technical vision and architecture for the business unit - balancing speed, quality, and flexibility
Partner tightly with the GM and designer to shape the product roadmap, contribute to strategy, and define MVPs and iterations
Write production code daily (frontend, backend, systems - whatever it takes)
Help recruit and mentor high-caliber engineers and collaborate cross-functionally with other technical leaders
Build in the open with the broader company: share learnings, reusable tools, and help shape the engineering culture
Make pragmatic tradeoffs for rapid prototyping and long-term extensibility
Solve ambiguous problems with product and technical ingenuity
Share tools, patterns, and learnings with the rest of Redo as we scale
Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally including full-stack web and system design work
Experience owning a product or major feature end-to-end - ideally from 0→1
Strong product sensibility: understanding users and designing for outcomes, not just requirements
Bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity; thrives in roles without pre-defined playbooks
Leverage with modern AI tools to ship quickly
Leadership skills: mentoring, collaboration, and performance management
Communicates clearly and has a founder-like mindset: defaults to ownership, not waiting
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, or AWS.
Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, ShipStation, or other e-commerce vendors.
Redo benefits and perks:
Working with a dynamic and innovative team in the fast-growing e-commerce industry.
On-site gym with showers, pickleball, and basketball.
Flexible PTO & company holidays.
Monthly allowance for purchases from e-commerce stores to support both existing and potential customers.
Company HSA contributions.
Weekly lunches & fully stocked break room.
$100/month babysitting reimbursement
Office is minutes from biking and running trails
This opportunity is 100% in-office in Draper, Utah.
Redo is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued, respected, and supported.
