We are seeking mechanical engineers to provide engineering design and analysis support to diverse R&D programs and small-volume production contracts. The selected candidates would be expected to lead the structural and thermal analysis of mechanical systems for space and airborne hardware, work within a multi-disciplined project team, be responsible for mechanical design and analysis activity, and support integration and formal acceptance-test activities. Projects vary from packaging high reliability electronics subsystems to opto-mechanical mechanism design such as gimbal and steering mirror systems.
YOU'RE REQUIRED TO HAVE THIS
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
2, or more, years mechanical engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
structural and thermal analysis including analytical calculations and FEA (stress analysis, modal analysis, thermal conduction analysis, bolt loads, etc.).
design using CAD software, ideally experience with SolidWorks.
tolerance analysis and GD&T practices.
space hardware design, analysis, integration, and test.
Strong technical writing skills applicable to engineering documentation (analysis reports, specifications, requirements documents, etc.).
Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.

What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a computer engineer or computer scientist to participate in the development of embedded software and test software for advanced RF systems used in current and future national security applications. The selected candidate will demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic team environment, sharing resources as well as programmatic responsibilities across the group.
This position's primary focus will be the development of embedded software for specialized RF communication systems. About Our Team
The High Reliability Special Communications Department (5372) develops terrestrial, airborne, and space-based special communications systems for use in surveillance, reconnaissance, and high-value target and material controls. Our customers include a variety of government organizations conducting special operations missions. Staff members possess a diverse skill set, including microwave circuit design, antenna design, signal analysis, digital signal processing, embedded software, and digital FPGA designs. Applications include long and short-range communications and transponder systems, typically utilizing ultra-low power signaling techniques. Our design challenges include highly miniaturized electronics, low-power maximally efficient transceivers, signal extraction in very low signal-to-noise environments, and signal analysis of RF and communication systems.

Summary

Summary:
The Packaging Equipment Engineer will be responsible for supporting daily packaging operations, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance of all packaging equipment within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for daily packaging operations, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent product quality.
Lead equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve mechanical, electrical, or automation issues.
Develop and execute optimization projects to improve line efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance equipment performance.

Summary:
The Packaging Equipment Engineer will be responsible for supporting daily packaging operations, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance of all packaging equipment within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role will lead and support equipment optimization, troubleshoot technical issues, implement process improvements, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, and Supply Chain.
In addition, the candidate will provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and mechanics, reviews and approves engineering documentation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements. By driving equipment performance and improvement initiatives, this role directly contributes to efficient, compliant, and safe pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for daily packaging operations, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent product quality.
* Lead equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve mechanical, electrical, or automation issues.
* Develop and execute optimization projects to improve line efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance equipment performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Validation, and Quality) to ensure smooth operation and compliance with cGMP standards.
* Author and review equipment-related documentation, including SOPs, change controls, CAPAs, and technical reports.
* Conduct root cause analyses for recurring or high-impact equipment issues and implement long-term corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
* Support installation, qualification, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new or modified packaging equipment.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in packaging processes and equipment reliability.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and safety requirements (FDA, EMA, OSHA, etc.).
* Manage and coordinate vendor support for equipment maintenance and upgrades.
* Provide technical training to operators and maintenance personnel on equipment functionality and best practices.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, Mechanical preferred.
* Minimum of five (5) years' experience in packaging equipment within the manufacturing environment. Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry a plus.
* Strong understanding of GMP, cGMP, and FDA regulations preferred.
* Hands-on experience with packaging lines (vials, labeling, cartoning, serialization, etc.).
* Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and automation systems (PLC, sensors, servos, HMIs).
* Demonstrated experience managing equipment improvement or capital projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities, yet it will involve mentoring, guiding, and advising other junior staffs.
