At Vesync we're passionate about delighting consumers with products and services from our Levoit, Cosori, Etekcity and Arize brands. We're now looking for a Senior Product Design Engineer to help us shape a new Product Innovation Team in the heart of our biggest market, North America.
Our Consumer Insights and User Experience teams contribute daily to the creation of exciting, new consumer products for our brands. Through our consumer-first approach we're now the number one choice in several major categories. Our growth will continue in our core categories, with the product innovation team focusing some efforts on new products in the adjacent space, however, our opportunity area of focus is in new categories that are supported by enabling technology resulting in smarter products that foster connected lifestyles, making life better for our consumers.Focused on new product creation, the Senior Product Design Engineer will support the Head of Product Innovation and be seen as a senior figure within the newly created team that drives front-end roadmap development in our existing categories as well as new categories.
The role will sit in the sweet spot between Design and Engineering to create, prototype and test solutions that align with our established insights/experience, marketing and brand teams based in the US.
Concepts will be created then tested with our consumers, prototyped and then validated in the US, with support from our R&D teams in China where required. When the product opportunity is well understood in terms of feasibility across design, engineering, culinary, marketing, brand, CI and legal we can then use the considerable resources of our China teams and suppliers to complete the detail design and manufacturing preparation. What you will do at VeSync:
Technical Expert
- You will be an authority on consumer product technologies, engineering principles (motorized & heated consumer products), solution selection, manufacturing techniques and material selection across multiple product categories.
Builder of Things
- Build proof-of-concept rigs with a combination of existing own brand components together with new 3D printed or CNC parts, then build custom micro-controller PCBA's or Arduino controllers to bring it all together that allows cross-functional teams to provide buy-in early to determine suitability on a product roadmap before moving into the internal development process.
Communicate
- You will be a strong and convincing communicator within the product innovation team, capable of making presentations with clean data that demystifies complex engineering studies in an easy-to-understand language for both the Head of Product Innovation, as well as leadership in the US and China.
Consumer Insights
- You will guide our design solutions by forming a complete picture of consumer needs and how new products will address these needs and create a delightful experience.
Process Adherence
- Our global IPD process, whilst continuously improving, is well understood and utilized by our teams in China. An important part of the role will be bringing a structured approach to projects to ensure seamless, accurate collaboration.
Inspire
- You will bring passion, creativity and drive to support a newly created team in product innovation across all of our consumer brands.
What you bring to the role:
Education -
At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, a BSc/MSc in Industrial Design Engineering is strongly preferred. This is NOT an Industrial Design role.
Experience -
10+ years in Consumer Product design and development for international markets.
This MUST include significant experience in motorized and heated products in categories such as: power tools, blenders, vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, ovens, air fryers, etc.
Strong working knowledge of electrical and electronic controls.
Hands-on experience designing and developing world-class, successful products from idea creation to proof-of-concept validation rigs, to the point of hand-over for detail design and manufacturing.
Leadership -
Previous responsibility for multi-disciplinary, technical teams working locally in the US or abroad with suppliers.
IoT
- many of our products are connected by our Vesync app. A good understanding of the consumer experience this enables is critical to the role.
Attention to detail
- we don't have time for a trial-and-error approach to design and development, we need to use intelligence and analysis to anticipate problems and get it right-first time.
Market Experience
- you will have a strong knowledge of the consumer product market in the US in some of our key categories with a deep understanding of brand and product value propositions.
Resolve
- The ability to listen carefully, ask questions, then understand sometimes complex issues and put forward a point-of-view on next steps is critical for success in this role.

StarFish Medical - Irvine, CA (On-Site)
StarFish Medical partners with innovators to develop breakthrough medical technologies. Our Irvine team is looking for a mechanical engineer who excels in early-stage product development, someone who enjoys transforming ambiguous ideas into functioning prototypes through rapid iteration, clever mechanisms, hands-on experimentation, and thoughtful engineering
If you thrive on concept ideation, feasibility testing, prototyping, and architecting systems from the ground up, this role is designed for you.
You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to explore design options, evaluate technical feasibility, and develop first-generation hardware that lays the foundation for subsequent product development phases.
Why You'll Love It Here
At the Irvine site, you'll join a small, high-energy team that values ingenuity, curiosity, and practical problem solving. You'll work in a creative environment where your early-stage engineering skills directly impact breakthrough medical technologies.
Why This Role Is Different
You will spend most of your time:
Generating concepts and architectures
Building and iterating early prototypes
Solving novel, open-ended mechanical problems
Running benchtop experiments to drive design decisions
Exploring methods, mechanisms, and materials using proof-of-principle models
If you enjoy the front end of innovation, you'll feel at home here.
What You'll Do
Define and refine mechanical requirements through technical investigation and early feasibility work
Lead concept development, mechanism ideation, and architecture-level design
Build benchtop prototypes quickly using CNC machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, compression molding, laser cutting, and other creative fabrication approaches
Conduct feasibility tests, characterize performance, and propose design directions based on experimental evidence
Evaluate materials, mechanical approaches, and design trade-offs early in the product lifecycle
Communicate design intent through sketches, block diagrams, models, and quick CAD concepts
Follow best practices to create robust 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks for early prototypes, assemblies, and evolving system architectures
Maintain revision control of 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks PDM
Collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, human factors, and industrial design teams during concept exploration and development
Work with vendors to produce prototypes and custom components, and to evaluate manufacturability
Transition successful early concepts into structured development for later-stage refinement
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
5 to 8 years or more of hands-on mechanical product development experience, including significant early-stage work
Strong proficiency in mechanism design, prototyping, and engineering fundamentals
Demonstrated ability to solve open-ended technical problems with incomplete information
Excellent CAD skills (SolidWorks) applied to conceptual and early-stage design
Breadth of experience with common manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, etc. and experience designing parts to be made using these processes
Comfortable communicating evolving design concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
