DUTIES
This position provides all care required to a child or adult with a disability while their parent or guardian is absent, while maintaining a safe and nurturing home-based environment. Special consideration may be given to applicants who are requested by the client or their family.
Respite Providers who have not been requested by a client or their family will be matched with clients who are approved for services. These Respite Providers will conduct respite care in the client's home, for a maximum of 16 hours per day.
The Respite Provider position will not have any guaranteed or set hours. There may be extended periods of time with no hours being worked. In many situations a respite provider may work a few hours one day and then not work again for several weeks or months. All hours worked by a Respite Provider are at the request of the family and respite is often provided in the afternoons, evening and on weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED. Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.

To provide individual with dependable and age appropriate Family Support. This is a direct service position, responsible for the provision of DIrect Care Services to program participants. To service as a Seven Hills Family Services Team Member.
To participate in a pre-placement interview with the Senior Family Support Specialist and the family/individual to be served to develop a specific family/individual respite plan as outlined in the Family Support Guidelines.
To complete detailed time sheets, obtain family signatures and submit these time sheets in a timely manner.
To provide respite services to individual utilizing, but not exceeding allotted hours.
To complete orientation and all required trainings as required by Seven Hills Family Services and the Department of Developmental Services Family Support Guidelines.
To attend specific job related training as assigned.
To have a continued working knowledge of the Seven Hills Family Services Support Worker Manual and Seven Hills Policies and Procedures.
To be knowledgeable of community activities.
To communicate effectively with family, individual and Seven Hills Family Service staff regarding scheduling and utilization of allocated resources to maximize efficiency.
To report any change in the family/individual situation to the Family Support Director in a timely manner, including family/individual resignation intention prior to termination of services to the family/individual.
To utilize community resources to enhance the quality of life of the families/individuals serviced through inclusionary or other specifically identified experiences.
An interest in working with families who have a physically, developmentally, emotionally, or other life challenged family member. Must be at least of eighteen (18) years of age. Knowledgeable of creative and developmental activities appropriate for the age and capabilities of the individual being supported. First Aide and CPR certification required (If not certified, Seven Hills provides paid training). Must have a valid driver's license.
