Avani Desai is the CEO at Schellman. Avani has more than 15 years of experience in IT attestation, risk management, compliance, and privacy. Avani’s primary focus is on emerging healthcare issues and privacy concerns for organizations. Named one of the 2017 Global Leaders in Consulting by Consulting Magazine, she has also been featured and published in the ISSA Journal, ITSP Magazine, ISACA Journal, Information Security Buzz, Healthcare Tech Outlook, and many more publications.

Doug Barbin is managing principal (and co-owner) responsible for firmwide growth and service delivery including new services, sales, global expansion, technology partnerships, business development, marketing, and key client relationships. During his more than 11 years at Schellman, he has been privileged to work with many of the world's leading cloud computing, federal, FinTech, healthcare, AI, and security provider clients.

Doug has more than 24 years’ experience, starting with a then Big 6 firm followed by a decade working in the cybersecurity and financial services industries. He maintains multiple CPA licenses, along with CISSP, CIPP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, and QSA certifications. He is very active in industry organizations and regularly speaks on commercial and government compliance and its application to cloud and other advanced technologies.

Scott Caschette is the Chief Information Officer for Schellman. Prior to joining Schellman in 2019, Scott worked as the Chief Information Security Officer for one of the largest managed service providers in the world. Scott has a record of providing clear vision and decisive leadership in the design and implementation of enterprise technology including corporate infrastructure, global data centers, cloud strategies, software development, business intelligence and extensive cybersecurity programs.

Debbie is a Principal at Schellman. She began her career in 2000 while working at Arthur Andersen in their Technology Risk Assurance practice. Debbie now leads the Midwest Region along with the Privacy, SOC 2 and SOC 3 service lines and is also on the AICPA’s SOC Specialist Task Force. As Privacy Practice Leader, she serves as the firm’s subject matter expert for APEC certifications. She is also responsible for internal training, methodology creation, and quality reporting. Debbie currently serves as an Advisory Board Member at the MidAmerica Club in Chicago; was a past member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Board of Governors; served on the Finance and Office Advisory Committee; and she also served on the AICPA’s Advanced SOC for Service Organizations Certificate Task Force.
