We are currently seeking a Senior Restraint System Design Release Engineer. This position requires an experienced professional in restraint system development. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
The RoleBe responsible for the design release of all steering wheels, driver airbags and seat belts in the vehicle, from system specification development, sourcing, packaging, drawing release, design validation to ramp up and manufacturing support.Work closely with the design studio and interior engineering teams to develop the optimum restraint system packages for occupant protection performance and interior styling Manage Tier 1 suppliers for both engineering development and program timing. Function as the main point of contact for all supplier interfaces Support restraint system integration work. Provide expertise on restraint system design to ensure five-star safety ratings for our new vehicles. Work closely with CAE team to provide design inputs and utilize CAE results to optimize the component design Support crash tests and vehicle homologation. Make sure parts are supplied with right pedigrees for all crash test vehicles and other vehicle level validation and homologation needs
QualificationsBachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or other related fields In-depth knowledge about the design and engineering of steering wheels and seat belts systems, direct experience in automotive OEM or Tier 1 suppliers Knowledge of automotive crashworthiness legislation and attributes Knowledge of latest technology advancement in the field of passive safety Enough CAD skills to package the component models into vehicle models, check interfaces with the rest of the vehicle and make small modifications if necessary. The ideal candidate should possess enough CAD skills to design small brackets, fixtures, etc.Engineering fundamentals in problem-solving The ability to articulate highly technical issues to audiences not in the crash safety field, such as top management, design studio, purchasing team, etc.Excellent people skills to manage suppliers, push the envelope to develop optimal technical solutions, ensure timely delivery of all components Strong work ethic

Job Description
Responsibilities include optimization and support of complex communication systems and software applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband systems.
Maintain, optimize, test and document complex communications systems.Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results Perform maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues.Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues Team with engineering, project management and sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

Senior Automation Systems Technician, 2nd shift

**The Challenge**

The Challenge

As an Automation Systems Technician, you will focus on maintaining and troubleshooting automation systems that utilize PLCs, robots, servos, vision systems, scanners, DC torque tools, and other associated automation systems. Your focus will be on maintaining a high level of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through equipment availability, performance, and quality. This role is located in Decatur, Alabama and has openings across all three shifts.

**What you will Do**

**Equipment**

+ As primary technical resource must be able to understand, troubleshoot and make corrections to automation systems and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) in an assigned production area.

+ Serve as primary resource for troubleshooting and performing repairs on equipment, machines and their controls.

+ Monitor and perform work to improve OEE in assigned area.

+ Coordinate and work with Engineering to identify when equipment upgrades are required.

+ Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities in the assigned area.

+ Help and work with Maintenance Team and Process Improvement Engineers to ensure all appropriate Preventative Maintenance Plans for Automation Systems are being followed.

**Safety**

+ Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.

+ Use appropriate PPE as the work dictates.

+ Utilize proper equipment Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and notify operations leaders of any LOTO deficiencies.

+ Always work with a focus on safety.

**Position Requirements**

+ Solid verbal/written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.

+ Advanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft office products with the ability to grasp new systems quickly.

+ Solid understanding how PLCs, Robots, and other automation equipment work and the ability to set up, program, and maintain this equipment.

+ Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to analyze automation equipment issues to implement solutions.

+ Eligible to work overtime based on business needs.

+ Ability to collaborate with hourly and salary personnel to meet the needs of operators and the shop.

+ High initiative, self-starter, proactive, dedicated, results oriented.

**What you need to Succeed**

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ High School diploma and five years' demonstrated experience troubleshooting and working with automation and/or electrical systems.

+ Must have ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Associate or higher degree in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics Technology, Robotics, or related field with experience in automation systems or equivalent experience.

+ Three years' experience in an automation systems type role in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

+ Hands on and relevant experience with PLCs, distributed I/O, servo controls, and robots. Preferably GE/Emerson PLCs and Fanuc Robots.

+ Experience in Control, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Mechanical, and Electrical systems.
