This is a Part Time position with 2nd shift hours. Will be mainly working Fridays, Saturdays and fill in when needed during the week.

Fulfill the daily operations of the restaurant including guest service, assisting the bartender, table service, and side work. Providing a fun yet professional environment by engaging all guests of the bar. Follow the expectations of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, including, following AHC guest service standards. Create a teamwork environment in the restaurant and produce quality service to each guest.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Serving includes the proper set up of all tables, garnishes, alcohol, wines
• Maintain daily set up and/or breakdown of the lounge
• Have full alcohol knowledge and knowledge of drink ingredients
• Know each menu item and its ingredients. Know what happy hour and other specials are.
• Cross training with bartenders to learn how to provide full bar service
• Be aware of events in the area. Be able to give suggestions to our guests
• Follow and Maintain Health Department Specs. Fill out daily temp logs, rotate product first in, first out and record/dispose of expired product on the waste log
• Strives to exceed guest satisfaction and looks for ways to provide the best possible service
• Understands all facets of job responsibilities and displays the skills necessary to complete tasks
• Complete daily cleaning duties and side work tasks, takes pride in their work
• Reports to work on time and rarely misses scheduled shifts. Correctly follow the department attendance policy
• Participates in department meetings and communicates freely expressing ideas, opinions or views. Communicates with management and other staff members
• Displays a positive courteous and polite attitude, works well with others
• Takes pride in their appearance and reports to work in complete uniform, wearing the proper shoes and socks professionally dressed and neatly groomed
• Displays a sense of urgency and the ability to resolve guest concerns or department issues on their own
• Utilize time well and is productive throughout the entire shift while meeting department standards
• Looks for ways to save money by reducing waste and controlling expenses. Also tries to generate more revenues by offering ideas and suggestive selling to the guest whenever possible
• Keeps work area neat and clean. Can be found picking up trash in public and back of the house areas of the Hotel. Knows where to recycle items for the department and consistently places them in the appropriate bins and recycling stations
• Follow the AHC safety standards of our hotel
• Associate to attend TIPS training and properly card guests who appear under 40 years of age. Be comfortable to pour wine, beer or make a mixed drink when a bartender is not present.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Daily set up of the lounge area
• Engaging with all guests in a timely manner
• Remembering drink orders of patrons
• Communicating with all restaurant staff daily drink specials
• Participating in the nightly communicating to the bartender of any ordering needs of the lounge
• Communicating with restaurant managers any special needs of the bar
• Actively taking care of each guest according to AHC guest service standards and department standards
• Monitoring food and alcohol waste
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness and overall deep cleaning of the bar area
• Attending Department Meetings
• Communicating with your management or team members
• Follow our hotel green policies
• Following AHC and Health Department Specs
• Actively work in the restaurants designated area: counter service, running food, and tables service.
• Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by General Manager or Food and Beverage Manager

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have previous alcohol serving experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
TiPS Certified preferred

The Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

• Effectively and efficiently give the best total dining experience to our Zippy’s guests.
• Welcoming guests in their assigned section
• Taking orders and inputting the orders into the POS
• Serves food and offer drink refills, anticipate their needs
• processes guest checks and payments properly.
• Busses tables promptly after guests leave.
• Must be knowledgeable and can describe menu items, suggestive sell ongoing promotions and special menu items. Answers guest inquiries in a purposeful manner.
• Maintains a constant flow of communication with kitchen staff guests regarding order status.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work and guest area through constant cleaning, organizing, and replenishing of necessary items.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum qualifications:

• Negative tuberculosis (TB) skin test within 12 months of the date of hire OR Dated/Issued at the age of 16 or older.
• Pass a background check & drug screening test
• Meet assigned shift requirements
• Regularly push, pull, and carry objects; Stand and walk for at least 6-8 hours
• Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
• Reach shoulder level and below waist constantly, and above the head occasionally
• Good understanding and comprehension of the English language.
• Basic Math and writing skills
• High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred
• Enjoy multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Punctual, dependable, and thoroughness
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a host/server preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age (based on state liquor laws)

What Makes a McKibbon Server?

The Server takes orders and serves food and beverage items to our customers in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner.

A Day in the Life:

* As a server you will ensure each guest is greeted and made to feel important
* As a server you will be knowledgeable about the menu, offering suggestions and being able to answer questions
* As a server you will service guests' orders as requested and as aligned with company and brand standards.
* As a server you will maintain adequate supplies of clean dishware.
* As a server you will carry food, dishes, trays, and/or silverware from the pantry to serving counters.
* As a server you will collect dirty dishes and tableware, and run them through the dishwasher.
* As a server you will clean counters, shelves, furniture, and/or equipment in the pantry or breakfast area.
* As a server you will clean any spilled items, broken items, and remove trash, when necessary.
* As a server you will mop or vacuum floors.
* As a server you will fill beverage and ice dispensers, and stock and/or refill the appropriate areas with condiments.
* As a sever you will perform other various duties as requested by management.

Requirements

* One to two years' experience as a server
* The ability to work a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and holidays
* The legal ability to serve alcohol in the State/Province
* Knowledge of state and local guidelines regarding service of alcohol
* Knowledge of drink preparation
* Computational skills to process guest payments
* Course work or certification/education in restaurant or business field are highly desired
* Food safety certification and/or alcohol service training recommended
* The ability to lift trays of beverages or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
* The ability to help create an energized bar atmosphere through friendly and personalized service
* The ability to anticipate customer needs, and change course of action accordingly
