Essential Functions of a MachineOperator:
Successfully completes forklift training and obtains certification
Provide the safest possible workplace by modeling and following all company safety policies, reporting, and acting upon any incidents or unsafe conditions
Become familiar with operation of less advanced manual and automated machinery
Basic understanding of process and flow of the department
Operatemachines at a rate which will meet scheduled production requirements while maintaining safety and quality standards
Understanding of company's work instructions, production standards, safety procedures, quality standards, and SOP's
Learn basic Global Shop procedures (clocking in & out of jobs, daily production & material transfers, checking inventory status, and completing daily tasks)
Develop an understanding of product knowledge to perform quality checks on parts
Learn how to knowledgably read prints/documents
Learn how to complete production and quality data sheets with accuracy
Qualifications for a MachineOperator
High School diploma or equivalent
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Experience operating a forklift preferred/ the ability to obtain certification
Will be required to climb, lift, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to lift 50 pounds independently
Ability to work at a steady and consistent pace

Responsibilities
:
Prioritize, plan and prepare work. Analyze tasks and establish appropriate sequence of operations
Read prints & job orders for product specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances and machine set-up requirements
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines
Set-up and safely operate various machining equipment such as manual and CNC lathes, mills, jig bores, and grinders in order to machine or grind components to customer specifications
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring devices (such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc..)
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Must have math & mechanical skills/aptitude
Must have the ability & desire to do precision work
Able to work well independently and cooperatively with team
Candidates must be able to stand 8-10 hours per day, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Position is primarily daylight, but candidates must be available for daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts and potentially Saturday morning when workload requires.
Education/Experience:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
No experience necessary, however, previous experience with lathes, mills, grinders, blueprint reading and measurement tools such as calipers & micrometers is a plus

Simultaneous set-up and operation of multiple machines is required due to long cycle times.
Keep coolant and oil levels at the proper levels and concentrations.
After hardening is done, check handle alignment and straighten if needed.
Check joint tensions and adjust as needed.
Weigh gage as needed.
Check handle spread and gage as needed.
Check nose gap and gage as needed.
Rope cut pliers following standard procedures.
Re-file as needed.
Needle Nose pliers must have the nose adjusted to meet Quality standards.
Cell operators will be required to learn all of the jobs that are performed within the work cell.
Complete appropriate paperwork and maintain 5S requirements.
