Job DescriptionSalary: $18-24/hour Avanti is seeking Rewinder Operators and Technicians to join our growing Company! Rewinder Operators and Techs are essential to the finishing stages of our Production process. Operators utilize a Celli/Rewinder machine to slit and rewind large rolls of our non-woven materials into smaller rolls for transportation to our customers around the world. Operators must understand the various cores used and the different specifications for all product rolls, while taking care to monitor for any defects, wrap rolls with high quality, and apply labels to the rolls with correct details. Utilize the Avanti software to log in specific details and product specifications. Actively watch the material running to identify any defects; must be able to identify the various types of defects. Responsible for flagging sections of jumbo with any defects or issues using proper color code. Operate an overhead crane and vertical wrapper. Change shaft extractors for respective core diameters used. Correctly set knives; must know how to adjust and replace knives as needed. Carry out functions of the wrapper i.e. set Film Tension, replace Shrink Wrap into Carrier, thread wrapper. Read and interpret information on labels; apply labels onto rolls. Identify the different colors of labels and understand the significance of each type. Utilize appropriate cardboard side covers for final product (rolls). Distinguish between an FDA Product and non-FDA product and follow proper FDA rules and protocols when applicable. Collect standard samples and for QA testing. Add re-feed to the machines as needed. Perform manual/automatic operations of the Rewinder. Read, fill and understand Operator Panel. Know parts and locations of Celli operating devises, such as alarms and lock system. Initiate E-Stops under necessary usage conditions. Work across multiple lines, as needed. Perform routine maintenance procedures. Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed and utilize proper PPE. Keep work station clean and organized. Other duties as assigned. Job DescriptionDescription: Machine Operator is responsible for operating extrusion equipment in a safe and efficient manner in order to manufacture products in accordance with customer specifications. The Operator is responsible for the setup of the equipment, monitoring the process, adjusting, and correcting as needed, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Starting wage is $15.00 per hour. Shift work is a swing shift rotating between 3 12-hour shifts one week and 4 12-hour shifts the next, rotating between one week being day-shift 7:00 am to 7:15 pm and one week being night-shift 7:00 pm to 7:15 am. That is 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. Overtime is not mandatory but voluntary. POSITION SUMMARY: The Machine Operator position is responsible for ensuring the continuing safe and efficient production process for the Morristown facility, including the set-up, validation and operation of automatic packaging equipment that produces wet wipes. ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Support the production and packaging of finished goods. • Operate, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and maintain production equipment to get maximum performance and efficiency. • Ensure the safe and efficient production of a quality product in an FDA-regulated facility. ABOUT THE POSITION The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. Key Activities & Responsibilities * Knowledgeable in basic machine safety to include proper lifting techniques. * Basic blueprint reading and math skills (basic geometry to figure angles) and decimals and metric conversions. * Knowledgeable and able to use tape measure, combination square, levels and radius boards, etc. * Able to safely use hand tools to include hammer, adjustable wrench, air grinder, pencil grinder, and air wrenches. * Closely monitor machine while in operation, never leaving immediate work area while machine is in operation and be ready to respond to breakdowns quickly in order to shut down machine. * Be able to read cut lists (basic reading skills and knowledge of materials - types of steel Able to safely operate cranes and forklifts. * Be able to do some layout work. * Review operator manual(s) for saw, drill, and mill for safe and appropriate operation (to include preventive maintenance). * Communicate with other machine operators and team members to guarantee safety on the floor. * Keep work area neat and clean. * Must follow all Astec, Inc. safety rules and requirements. * Must follow all company policy requirements. Job Description Machine Operator II will be responsible for setting up and running specialized machine equipment (such as presses, un-coilers, roll-formers, and any other pieces of equipment as deemed necessary by management) to produce various designs and sizes of garage door sections and other garage door components. The employee will also be accountable for the overall quality and storage of garage door sections and other garage door components, the preparing of rejected material(s) for return to vendor(s) and the housekeeping of the machinery and general work area(s). Machine Operator II possess the ability to use a tape measure, micrometer, caliper, "feeler" gauge, and other mechanical tools as used in this position. Employee will be required to use a computer, be certified to drive a forklift truck, certified to operate overhead cranes and operate a pallet jack, able to lift, carry, and set up rollers and dies onto the press, un-coiler, and roll-former weighing up to 50 pounds. Major Responsibilities/Activities: Conduct activities by adhering to established procedures and approved processes. Operate relevant production equipment or tools. Fulfill production orders, meet inventory requirements, and produce at the prescribed production rate(s). Capacity to develop knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment and be able to apply this knowledge to the completion of work as assigned. Must be able to read, interpret, produce, and measure products to prints/drawings and work instruction specifications to ensure compliance.
