1903

What else happened in 1903

1904

As described in the Young Women's Industrial Club 1904–05 yearbook, students were broken into classes according to age.

1908

By 1908, the industrial club had 436 students, male and female, many commuting from the surrounding towns and countryside.

1922

In 1922, President Keyes won over the Board of Regents, and the Skidmore School of Arts became Skidmore College, a four-year degree-granting institution.

1942

As described in the "College Traditions" section of the 1942–43 Student Handbook, "each entering student is given an oil cloth bib bearing her name and address, which she is required to wear the first few weeks of college.

1957

By the time President Moore retired in 1957, Skidmore's student body stood at 1,100 strong and the campus was spread throughout approximately 80 buildings in downtown Saratoga Springs.

1961

Skidmore College was established in downtown Saratoga Springs, but on October 28, 1961, the college acquired the Jonsson Campus, 850 acres (3.4 km) of land on the outer edges of Saratoga Springs.

1964

The Jonsson Campus was named for the Skidmore trustee Erik Jonsson, the founder and president of Texas Instruments and a former mayor of Dallas, Texas (1964–71). The new Jonsson Tower bears his name.

1971

Also in 1971, Skidmore established a Phi Beta Kappa chapter.

1988

In 1988, Skidmore faculty formed the Collaborative Research Program, which provides students with opportunities to co-author papers and studies with professors.

1991

Skidmore began granting master's degrees in 1991 through its Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) program.

1998

The Skidmore Honors Forum was founded in 1998.

2006

2006 marked the start of the largest campaign in Skidmore's history, Creative Thought.

2010

The goal was to raise $200 million, which was reached and surpassed in 2010 and celebrated at Celebration Weekend.

2021

Boxscore for Softball vs Elmira College on April 23, 2021 at 3 p.m.

2022

Admissions: In 2022, Skidmore received more than 13,000 applications for a first-year class of more than 700.
