SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented software engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business that provides core capabilities for National Security and Defense. Our teams focus on image analysis, low-latency data processing, detection, and tracking algorithms for exploitation of remote sensing systems. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded C++ developer, work well as part of a rapid pace, collaborative, small-team environment, and be able to prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions into Government frameworks.
Responsibilities
Implement new algorithms for remote sensor data exploitation
Optimize existing high-throughput algorithms surrounding our image analysis, detection, and tracking efforts
Demonstrate fluent, idiomatic mastery of C++; comfortable with software design and architecture
Work as part of an Agile team and contribute to shared tools

Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
Additional year of education may be substituted for years of professional experience.
At least five years of professional experience and fluency in C++
At least three years of professional experience using Linux operating systems
Knowledge of Data Structures
Optimization skills for high-data-throughput processing
Detail oriented
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work full-time in-person in Boulder, CO office location
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Experience with GPU programming

Develop an integration framework to deploy an ecosystem of microservices that provide high value production print services. THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a backend focused Sr. Software Engineer to join our Boulder-based team and help build the infrastructure powering our privacy first, data-driven platform. This role blends distributed systems engineering and cloud-native development in a high-impact environment. You'll design scalable systems to process, transform, and query large volumes of anonymized healthcare data. You'll also design systems to drive insights and power downstream applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python.
Architect distributed systems using AWS services like EKS, EMR, S3 and Athena.
Deploy ML models in engineering pipelines.
Build and optimize ETL pipelines and secure data-sharing workflows using Spark.
Deploy and manage containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and manage infrastructure-as-code.
Work with large-scale datasets using advanced SQL for analytics, reporting, and data product features.
Ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability in a production environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong backend development experience in Python.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and services (ideally AWS).
Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with large-scale datasets (Athena, Redshift, PostgreSQL, etc.).
