About the team:The Funding domain is responsible for ensuring every party involved with GoodLeap financed project is paid accurately and quickly. This team is continually working to improve GoodLeap's platform by building new and innovative financial technology tools to intelligently track complex ready conditions and report on ledgers to help our customers confidently run their business. The team cares deeply about code quality, alerts, dashboards, pipelines, and other automation to ensure the quality of our products. We are pushing the boundaries of technology at GoodLeap and always have new and interesting projects. There is a good mix of greenfield work and improvement work. On the technical side, the team leverages technologies like C#.NET, MongoDB, Kafka, Typescript, GitHub Actions, SST (Serverless stack), Lambda functions, Datadog, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Kubernetes and Elastic Search to build all these cool systems.
About the role:As a Staff SoftwareEngineer, you will lead the architecture, design, and development of solutions in GoodLeap's Funding domain. Lead the design and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical software applications, spanning frontend and backend, with a focus on C#.NET and TypeScript/JavaScript services.

Provide technical leadership across teams, guiding decisions on architecture, design patterns, and best practices to align with business objectives.

The first role is serving as the Engineering and Sciences Functional Manager overseeing a Software and Digital Technologies Engineering section of 12-15 engineers in McClellan. Functional Manager duties include:
Provide Engineering functional oversight for the Engineering staff in your department. This includes active employee engagement, career development, conducting employee performance reviews and merit planning, mentoring, and training.
Ensure strong Engineering technical execution and discipline synergy across our portfolio of programs, promoting adherence to our engineering processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality work products and reduce risk on the programs.
Recruit new talent, to include entry-level through highly experienced positions, to meet staffing demand from across the portfolio. You will also work to rapidly redeploy talent to support other programs as programs end or to maximize impact and efficiency of your team.
Provide inputs to indirect budgets for your Engineering section.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with at least 9 years of technical experience in SoftwareEngineering or a related discipline accompanied by high proficiency in technical development and problem solving across the full development lifecycle; Master's degree with 7 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years of experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Demonstrated professional experience with an Agile Framework within the last 3 years.
Demonstrated professional experience implementing software and scripts in one or more Object Oriented Programming languages: C++, scripts in C, AND/OR Python.
Demonstrated professional experience with software change control, change management, and CI/CD tools such as not limited to: GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and/or Atlassian tool suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience effectively leading and growing diverse technical teams
Active TS/SCI clearance
Experience leading teams executing both Software and FPGA Development
Experience executing in an Agile Framework, with increased preference for leadership role experience such as Scrum Master
