Duties of a Recycling Sorter: • Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, paper) from incoming material. • Deposit recoverable items safely and efficiently into appropriate chutes. • Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items. • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergencies. • Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable material; remove unacceptable items as required. • Clean the recycling area by sweeping, raking, picking up broken glass and loose paper debris, or moving barrels, cans, and bins. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements of a Recycling Sorter: • Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, twist, reach, etc. • Must be able to work in potentially cold or warm environments. • Ankle High Steel Toe Work Boots are required. • Must be able to lift 25lbs • Must be able to work over 40+ hours per week - Overtime required. • Clean criminal background required • Must be 18 years of age or older • Strong work ethic and fantastic attendance required • Safety-minded candidates only Hours, Pay & Shifts of a Recycling Sorter: Monday - Friday 6 AM - 6 PM Saturdays as needed About 15-20 hours of overtime per week is required Starting pay $10.50 an hour (overtime pay is $fifteen seventy-five an hour) OT starts after 40 hours worked.
