Duties of a Recycling Sorter: • Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, paper) from incoming material. • Deposit recoverable items safely and efficiently into appropriate chutes. • Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items. • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergencies. • Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable material; remove unacceptable items as required. • Clean the recycling area by sweeping, raking, picking up broken glass and loose paper debris, or moving barrels, cans, and bins. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
