About the Position The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary Speech-Language Pathologist clinical educator positions. Depending upon individual assignment, the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties: Design yearly program for implementing the speech/language/hearing services within the assigned buildings in keeping with district, state, and federal guidelines Process hearing screening programs as prescribed by state law and district policy Identify students with speech/language disorders Evaluate students with speech/language disorders to determine cause, nature, prognosis, habilitation goals, and recommend remediation Conduct regularly scheduled therapeutic procedures which will modify the behaviors characterizing the speech/language and/or hearing disorder Provide information and assistance to teachers and other appropriate staff and nonpublic school agencies through such activities as consultation and in-service education Consult with parents relative to student's speech/language/hearing disorder Participate in multi-disciplinary staffing procedures which involve language disabled students Maintain appropriate records and data system Participate in activities which ensure professional growth Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular work hours Professionally interact with students, staff, and public Establish and maintain professional contacts with students Comply with all district policies and procedures Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct Perform related duties as assigned Work Environment: Work is typically performed in and around a student learning environment; may be exposed to childhood diseases; may be required to balance and crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel; may be required to stand for prolonged periods; may be exposed to high noise levels; and may experience a multitude of demands and changing priorities with frequent interruptions. Evaluation This position shall be evaluated periodically by the Executive Director of Special Education pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria. The process shall include an evaluation of the employee's performance of the above essential job functions.
