The normal winter season is approximately September 24 through May 8.
Duties:
Snow Plow Operators are responsible for snow and ice removal on State highways during inclement weather. Duties may include completing general maintenance assignments. Training will be provided.
Hours:
The hours needed may vary from a scheduled 20-hour work week (part-time) to 40-hour work week (full-time) to include response for snow removal operations or may be limited to response for snow removal operations only (intermittent reserve drivers). Preference will be given to individuals willing to work only during winter conditions.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age and have the ability to operate heavy equipment. Must have a valid driver's license and Class A or Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with a N: Tank Vehicles endorsement. If you do not have a N: Tank Vehicles endorsement you have 30 days from the date of hire to obtain it. Employee will be subject to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, follow-up accident, and return-to-duty drug and alcohol testing. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening. Applicants will be required to authorize the Department of Transportation to obtain a complete driving record. Employee must be willing to report to work during inclement weather conditions, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings. Special Agents conduct investigations independently or in conjunction with municipal, county, or other law enforcement personnel to gather all necessary evidence to ensure the apprehension and conviction of suspected felons. Duties for Special Agents assigned to the ICAC/Digital Investigations Unit include, but are not limited to: interviewing witnesses and interrogating suspects, conferring with the prosecuting attorney, prepare demand letters, obtain subpoena and search warrant authorization or other documents to secure additional evidence from Internet Service Providers, Electronic Service Providers, cellular carriers, or other data storage sources. Prepare affidavits for search warrants, serving search warrants and searching premises to locate evidence and collecting and processing physical evidence, conducting surveillance of suspects or locations, preparing final investigative reports of case findings and recommendation of criminal charges, testifying as a witness in a court of law, locating, subduing, searching, advising, and arresting suspects when there is probable cause, exchanging information with local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities, providing training and technical guidance to other law enforcement agencies in the agent's area of expertise, performing other related duties as required.
Further duties will include; developing and maintaining working relationships with state, local and federal law enforcement agencies, including State's Attorneys and United States Attorneys for the purpose of conducting and coordinating ICAC related investigations and prosecutions. Operate in a multi-jurisdictional environment involving cooperation with federal, state, and local law enforcement officials. Responsibilities include the investigation of CyberTips received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Provide instruction on the avoidance of victimization in computer related crimes to the general public, law enforcement officers, students and parents. Develop, and conduct training programs for law enforcement, prosecutions, probation and parole to improve South Dakota ICAC prosecutions, investigations, and forensic capabilities. Conduct digital forensic examinations of computer systems and analyze electronic evidence using acceptable forensic methods for multiple law enforcement agencies and task forces. Cases referred for digital forensic examination involve the sexual exploitation of children, fraud, forgery, theft, homicide, and drug violations.

This opening is for a full-time position with the South Dakota Department of Health for a Registered Dietitian/Licensed Nutritionist (RD/LN) in the Office of Family Nutrition Services (OFNS). This role supports the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in the East region of the state. The RD/LN will work under the supervision of the Dietitian Manager to deliver vital nutrition services that directly impact family and community health. This position will provide participant case management, approve special formula requests, consult with healthcare providers, and review and assess high-risk nutrition cases to determine whether case management is required by a Registered Dietitian or can be assigned to other qualified staff.
Additional functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
* determine participant eligibility including: identity, income, residency, and categorical and nutritional risk;

* provide nutrition support and education;
* provide breastfeeding support and education;

This position within the clinical services team serves an important role by providing comprehensive psychological services for male and female offenders in a manner that is consistent with the goals and the mission statement of the South Dakota Department of Corrections.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
providing professional psychological services to offenders to include formal and informal mental health evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and clinical interventions;
providing group services, individual therapy, and crisis intervention;
assisting with screening and classification as needed;
overseeing cases of competency restoration;
close collaboration with members of the the Risk Reduction team;
using standardized tools (such as the VRAG-R and the PCL:SV) to conduct evaluations related to level of risk, violence, and psychopathy;
providing recommendations to institutional and parole staff for high risk offenders upon reentry
assisting with assessment pertaining to both emergency and non-emergency transfer for offenders experiencing acute mental health needs;
participating in determination of eligibility for services (such as those pertaining to intellectual disability);
working with educational staff in the formulation of Individualized Education Programs for some offenders, as well as diagnosis of learning disabilities (such as dyslexia)
providing clinical direction, education, and training to non-clinical correctional staff in mental health care and treatment of offenders;
working with other behavioral staff in the formation and implementation of behavior management and treatment plans;
providing direct clinical supervision to psychology interns, when applicable;
documenting in an accurate and timely manner to provide comprehensive offender mental health records;
promotion of and accountability for the safety and security of the clinical and correctional environment through conscientious observations, and sensitive item contraband control;
serving as a member of a multi-disciplinary team that addresses situations involving offenders with complex needs.
The services listed above will involve occasional travel to DOC facilities across the state
Licenses and Certifications:
Applicant must possess a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in the field of psychology, and must be licensed or license-eligible in the State of South Dakota
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with corrections-involved clients or within a correctional setting is preferred.

Position Purpose:
This position assists with cases filed with the court clerk's office including criminal, civil, traffic, and other cases from initial filing to final disposition by developing and maintaining case files, assisting with scheduling and assigning hearings, assisting in courtroom proceedings, and implementing procedures for monetary dispositions; provides customer services daily to a wide variety of individuals and agencies; and acts on behalf of the court clerk in his or her absence.
Duties may include work in the following areas: case processing, scheduling, records maintenance, finance, jury, courtroom support, social/customer service, technical assistance and computer support, and other administrative matters. Examples include but are not limited to:
Maintaining case files for criminal, civil, traffic, and other cases from initial to final disposition in accordance with established procedures and designated timelines.
Assisting in maintaining court calendars by scheduling hearings according to procedures.
Providing customer service in many ways to many different people by providing information about the court's protocols and procedures to make sure they receive correct information.
Assisting victims of domestic violence with court processes to ensure they receive timely attention to requests for protection orders and information on services available in their areas.
Providing assistance in courtrooms by maintaining case files and minutes of proceedings; handling in-court exhibits; empaneling juries; recording proceedings; being responsible for sound and video equipment; and providing court interpretive services when needed to facilitate processes of the court.
Performing other work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or possession of a GED certificate and one year of general clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is required for employment.

Special Agents conduct investigations independently or in conjunction with municipal, county, or other law enforcement personnel to gather all necessary evidence to ensure the apprehension and conviction of suspected felons. Duties for Special Agents assigned to the ICAC/Digital Investigations Unit include, but are not limited to: interviewing witnesses and interrogating suspects, conferring with the prosecuting attorney, prepare demand letters, obtain subpoena and search warrant authorization or other documents to secure additional evidence from Internet Service Providers, Electronic Service Providers, cellular carriers, or other data storage sources. Prepare affidavits for search warrants, serving search warrants and searching premises to locate evidence and collecting and processing physical evidence, conducting surveillance of suspects or locations, preparing final investigative reports of case findings and recommendation of criminal charges, testifying as a witness in a court of law, locating, subduing, searching, advising, and arresting suspects when there is probable cause, exchanging information with local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities, providing training and technical guidance to other law enforcement agencies in the agent's area of expertise, performing other related duties as required.
Further duties will include; developing and maintaining working relationships with state, local and federal law enforcement agencies, including State's Attorneys and United States Attorneys for the purpose of conducting and coordinating ICAC related investigations and prosecutions. Operate in a multi-jurisdictional environment involving cooperation with federal, state, and local law enforcement officials. Responsibilities include the investigation of CyberTips received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Provide instruction on the avoidance of victimization in computer related crimes to the general public, law enforcement officers, students and parents. Develop, and conduct training programs for law enforcement, prosecutions, probation and parole to improve South Dakota ICAC prosecutions, investigations, and forensic capabilities. Conduct digital forensic examinations of computer systems and analyze electronic evidence using acceptable forensic methods for multiple law enforcement agencies and task forces. Cases referred for digital forensic examination involve the sexual exploitation of children, fraud, forgery, theft, homicide, and drug violations.
