Deferred Compensation: The County maintains a deferred compensation plan under Section 457 of the IRS code. You may annually contribute $22,500 or 100% of your includible compensation, whichever is less. Individuals age 50 or older may contribute to their plan, up to $30,000. The Roth IRA (after tax) is also now available.
Vacation: Maximum earned vacation is 10 days each year up to 3 years; 15 days after 3 years; 20 days after 10 years; and 23 days after 20 years.
Holidays: Effective July 1, 2017, all civil service status employees earn 14 paid holidays each year. Please see the appopriate MOU for details regarding holidays, accruals, use, and cashability of accrued time.
Sick Leave: 12 working days of sick leave annually with unlimited accumulation. Sick leave incentive: An employee is eligible to receive eight hours administrative leave if the leave balance equals at least one- half of the cumulative amount that the employee is eligible to accrue. The employee must also be on payroll during the entire calendar year.
Bereavement Leave: 3 days of paid leave for the death of qualifying family member, 2 additional days of accrued leave for death of employee's spouse, domestic partner, parent or child.
Merit Salary Increase: New employees will receive the starting salary, which is the first step of the salary range. After employees serve 52 weeks (2080 hours) on each step of the range, they are eligible for a merit increase to the next step.
Job Sharing: Employees may agree to job-share a position, subject to approval by a Department Head and the Director of Human Resources.
Educational Reimbursement Program: Eligible employees may be reimbursed for career-related course work up to a maximum of $850 per fiscal year. Eligible employees enrolled in an approved four (4) year College or University academic program may be reimbursed up to $800 per semester for a maximum of $1600 per fiscal year.
Parking Supplemental Downtown Stockton: The County contributes up to $20 per pay period for employees who pay for parking and are assigned to work in the Downtown Core Area.
School Activities: Employees may take up to 40 hours per year, but not more than eight (8) hours per month, to participate in their children's school activities.
Selection Procedures
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will go through the following examination process:
* Written Exam: The civil service written exam is a multiple choice format. If the written exam is administered alone, it will be 100% of the overall score. Candidates must achieve a minimum rating of 70% in order to be placed on the eligible list.
* Oral Exam: The oral exam is a structured interview process that will assess the candidate's education, training, and experience and may include a practical exercise. The oral exam selection process is not a hiring interview. A panel of up to four people will determine the candidate's score and rank for placement on the eligible list. Top candidates from the eligible list are referred for hiring interviews. If the oral exam is administered alone, it will be 100% of the overall score. Candidates must achieve a minimum rating of 70% in order to be placed on the eligible list.
* Written & Oral Exam: If both a written exam and an oral exam is administered, the written exam is weighted at 60% and the oral exam is weighted at 40% unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. Candidates must achieve a minimum rating of 70% on each examination in order to be placed on the eligible list.
* Rate-out: A rate-out is an examination that involves a paper rating of the candidate's application using the following criteria: education, training, and experience. Candidates will not be scheduled for the rate-out process.
Note: The rating of 70 referred to may be the same or other than an arithmetic 70% of the total possible points.
Online Written Exams: Written exams may be administered online. Candidates will be notified of the examination date and will be responsible to complete the written exam within a given period of time (typically within five calendar days). Job Description
This position is contingent on contract award.
This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below:
International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Medical Supply Technician to provide services for VA members and their families. A Medical Supply Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of medical supplies and equipment in healthcare settings, ensuring that items are properly sterilized, organized, and readily available for use by medical staff. They play a critical role in supporting patient care by making certain that the necessary supplies are available and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that surgical instruments and medical equipment are meticulously cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use.
Clean and decontaminate instruments and equipment to remove biological material, blood, and other contaminants, adhering to guidelines and policies established by AAMI, AORN, FDA, and OSHA.
Wear appropriate PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
Follow manufacturer instructions for use (MIFU) while inspecting instruments for damage, wear, or malfunction.
Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, V-Pro, machine washers, and ultrasonics as per MIFU and established protocols.
Monitor and record sterilization cycles to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Reassemble reusable medical instruments according to AAMI, AORN, FDA, and OSHA guidelines and MIFU, checking each instrument for staining, pitting, cracking, and rust.
Properly package instruments to maintain sterility until needed.
Prepare and label packages accurately, ensuring all contents are documented.
Maintain accurate records of cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, FDA, and facility protocols.
Train new staff members on sterileprocessing procedures and best practices to ensure a high standard of care.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
Must have a minimum of 2 years' recent experience as a Medical Supply Technician.
Must be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfil the Government's requirements
Must possess competency, skills, and certification related to the provision of services performed.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Education Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The contractor shall directly support the Material Management Department and the Directorate for Administration at NMCSD by providing support including, but not limited to
Duties / Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to the following
Process internal customer orders, stock, and re-supply medical logistics items. This will include removing all outdated or expired items from shelves.
Provide forward logistics support to Material Operations personnel as needed with the established computerized internal supply system. This includes assisting with the delivery of supplies, equipment, or furniture to customer accounts within the medical treatment facility and includes outlying buildings attached to the organization.
Provide operation of the computer system for filling carousel bins and supply lockers. Customer service may be required when filling lockers throughout the hospital complex.
Will answer phone calls via the 24-hour hotline to answer supply questions regarding the General Stores operations and provide professional and timely customer service to end users.
Will work on weekends, holidays, or any shift, since the General Stores area operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Inventories supply carts located in clinics and wards throughout the hospital through the use of hand-held computers. Downloads data from computer and generates picklist. Identifies and selects items for issuing from the carousel and loads supply items onto transport lockers for restocking of PAR carts. Prepares lockers for transport on Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for distribution. Receives supply lockers from AGVs, unloads lockers into PAR carts, and inventory with replenishment.

Work is performed indoors with some potential risks to safety and health hazards related to electronics and the medical environment

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES
Clean, decontaminate, inspect and track reusable instrumentation; Utilize personal protective barrier.
Clean ultrasonic tab and replace cold solution every 28 days or per SACHS/OSHA guidelines, policy and procedures.
Disassemble, clean, identify and separate varied and complex dental and medical instrumentation appropriately, maintain a separation of the dirty and clean side of the sterilization area while performing duties.
Break down trays as they come in from exams and treatments; disposes of single use items and disposables in accordance with SOP's.
Review, assemble and package instrumentation singles, cassettes in preparation for sterilization.
Sterilize items according to product requirements to include compliance with all regulatory board and safety requirements; Collect, receive and maintain log for reusable instruments for sterilizationprocessing.
Responsible for daily stocking of sterilization supplies and instruments for dental and medical department; Perform quality assurance, documentation and quality control activities on all instrumentation, equipment, and biological testing appropriately.
Familiar and practice infection control protocol and OSHA guidelines; Discard sharps containers thru disposal system.
Must maintain neat, clean and stocked sterilization and supply area. Store packaged sterile instruments according to department guidelines so that all staff members can retrieve and account for instruments quickly. Sorts mismatched instruments, trays and equipment.
Set-up and break down rooms as assigned; Assist Dental Assistants and Registered Dental Assistants as needed; Assists Lead Registered Dental Assistant with supply inventory.
Order sterilization supply through Central Supply and report equipment malfunctions.

Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
