JOB PURPOSE: The Sterilization Tech will support the dentist, and team, in providing quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work independently, sterilize and maintain instruments, equipment, set up and break down of treatment areas, and providing a clean and professional environment in general spaces Salary: $19-22 per hour Location: ProSmile Wheat Ridge 10135 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 Primary Duties Setting up and breaking down sterilization area beginning and end of day, as well as making sure all instruments are processing before leaving for lunch. Breaking down, cleaning, and setting up operatories between patients; (both treatment rooms and hygiene rooms) monitoring who may be behind to help them get the rooms turned around. Clean supplies, equipment, instruments, and instrument trays, following standard precautions for decontamination. Running instruments through ultrasonic and sterilizer machines, keeping sterile area clean and organized. Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments properly: must remove all organic and inorganic materials from dental instruments before sterilization process. Secondary Duties Responsible for monthly maintenance of all sterilization equipment, hand pieces, hand piece motors, suction and traps. Test sterilization equipment weekly to ensure proper functionality Run suction lines weekly in all treatment and hygiene rooms Change traps in all operatories once a week Keep stockroom organized, putting away supplies when they come in and monitoring stock, noting when low on supplies Stocking all operatories and designated sterilization area(s). Help assist in bringing patients back, taking photographs and impressions and/or scans when needed.

Primary responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining a neat, organized, and well documented sterilization department. Scope 1.Operates and monitors sterilization equipment. 2. Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination. 3. Sterilizes, disinfects durable medical equipment and instruments, packages clean supplies and instruments, maintains records for all instruments and transports sterilized items to the floor. 4. Assembles sterilized instruments and rechecks all instruments for cleanliness and/or impairment. Properly checks power equipment. 5. Takes measures to allow for easy instrument tracking including following labeling processes, reporting and documenting all missing instruments and implants replaced in trays. 6. Communicates the equipment and instrument inventory 7. Responds to emergency situations by ensuring all emergency, trauma and add-on cases are supplied properly and delivered to the Operating Room in a timely manner. 8. Utilizes applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with State and Federal regulations. 9. Provides on the job training on the job training (OJT) to newly hired associates in the department. 10. Promotes mission, vision, and values and abides by service behavior standards. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. 12. May be required to work over normal hours assigned You will demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment You will maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care You will demonstrates awareness of appropriate sterilization methods needed for different instruments in accordance with the manufacturers instructions You will maintain a daily log, testing for efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle and perform biological testing You will monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles while documenting any deviation from normal functioning to Lead Assistant and/or Manager You will maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent Dental assisting experience desired Will Train Hours: Full-Time 20-25 hours per week.
