Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency, minimal delays and to promote patient safety. * Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile/non-sterile field and instruments for designated procedures. Maintains current knowledge of procedures performed in Endoscopy. Re-stocks procedure room and other designated areas as case load permits * Assumes responsibility for the efficient management of endoscopy cases to which assigned under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Applies knowledge of principles of surgical asepsis required for the surveillance of the Endoscopy Suite environment. * Utilizes appropriate cleaning and decontamination techniques in the maintenance of equipment and supplies. Consistently utilizes Standard Precautions and sterile technique in performing all procedures. * Attends all mandated safety programs or in-services to maintain a working knowledge of appropriate precautions and safe and effective use of equipment and actions to be initiated during the execution of duties. Maintains own proficiency in performing position responsibilities through in-services, seminars, and other self-directed learning activities. * Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
