Job Details The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for daily operations to support the operating rooms and various other units as needed. They are responsible for ensuring surgical supplies, instruments, scopes and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a safe, quality and timely manner. Position or transport patients in accordance with instructions from medical personnel. Assist physicians or registered nurses in the conduct or endoscopic procedures. Attend in-service training to validate or refresh basic professional skills. Collect specimens from patients using standard medical procedures. Conduct in - service training sessions to disseminate information regarding equipment or instruments. Keep abreast of developments in endoscopy by participating in professional organizations and/or conferences. Education Requirements: High School or GED Equivalent is required Certified Surgical Tech or Endoscopy Tech required Associates Degree in Nursing or health sciences is preferred At least one year of experience in a GI or multi- specialty surgery environment with working knowledge and proficiency in the use of endoscopy equipment.
