Ensure each staff member and camper has a health history and physical examination form on file.
Provide lists to the office of missing information from health histories for camp staff to use during check in procedures.
Check in camper and staff medication upon arrival as per New York State Department of Health procedures.
Follow appropriate medical routines, including record keeping in the daily medical log, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications, and utilizing approved standing orders.
Other Job Duties:
Support the camp leadership to maintain a safe working environment.
Be familiar and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard.
Act proactively to prevent accidents/injuries and communicate hazards to supervisors when identified.
Qualifications: (Minimum Education and Experience)
Must be 18 years of age.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification as accepted by the local health department (re-certification can be provided by camp).
Must provide proof of eligibility for employment prior to the first day of work.
Ability to interact with all age levels.
Ability to work flexible hours.
