Your Job Responsibilities:
Be the technical lead for the electrical engineering and design of high-tech facilities, including new data centers, facility expansions, and system upgrades.
Create power design for complex electrical systems including UPS and generator support systems.
Have expertise in power distribution, grounding, standby power, uninterruptible power, and related systems.
Possess proficiency in the development of electrical one-lines, specifications, calculations, studies, and software-based systems analysis.
Have a strong understanding of building systems and inter-discipline coordination.
Be comfortable leading, mentoring, and delegating portions of design work to project engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD staff.

The Senior Paleontologist will work as part of a dynamic team that is based in Southern California but includes staff members across the United States. Stantec Paleontology is one of the largest paleontological mitigation programs in the country, holding numerous statewide Bureau of Land Management and project-specific United States Forest Service and National Park Service paleontological permits. Our team includes over 30 paleontologists, including field technicians and directors, fossil preparators, and principal investigators. Stantec supports a wide range of paleontology projects, from multi-state transmission and pipeline projects to road improvements, solar fields, private development, and more. We offer support through all stages of permitting and development, including preconstruction surveys and assessments, construction mitigation programs, and fossil treatment. Our Monrovia, California and Denver, Colorado offices include fossil preparation workspaces, with museum-quality preparation equipment.
Within this team, the Senior Paleontologist will direct compliance projects for state, federal, and commercial clients and is responsible for overseeing project development, direction, coordination, and quality control, under the guidance of the Principal Paleontologist. Additionally, the Senior Paleontologist will train staff, oversee field directors, produce quality reports, manage multiple projects and budgets, author proposals and participate in marketing, as required.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and review of paleontological technical reports, CEQA/NEPA documents, impact mitigation plans, and annual permit reports.
* Preparation of cost proposals including budgets and scopes of work.
* Project management: implementation of projects from kickoff to completion, including client and agency coordination, project scheduling, coordination of support staff, and budget management.
Implementation of resource impact mitigation measures including monitoring and fossil collection projects of all types and sizes.
* Participation in and logistical planning for field projects from inception to completion across the western US.

Your Opportunity
The Electrical Designer will work directly with design engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers;
* Set up new Revit projects based on existing project templates;
* Develop Electrical construction documentation under supervision of assigned engineering, design, and BIM staff utilizing primarily Revit;
* Develop Electrical construction models in Revit as part of a BIM team;
* Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings;
* Work from both customer and firm drawings;
* Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and Revit drafting;
* Provide technical support for existing projects and field service;
* Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create/extract reports as required.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Coordinate with the Plumbing, Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, and Telecommunication/Audio Visual discipline's project design teams;
* Working knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office;
* Demonstrate knowledge or interest on MEP systems and their installation, with an emphasis on Electrical installations preferred;
* Experience and understanding of drawing and modeling organization, detail, and precision.
Education and Experience
Two-year Technical or Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting/Construction Technology, Electrical Technology, or similar with knowledge of current CAD and BIM; platforms, or an equivalent combination of education and Electrical trade experience;
A minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical drafting.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Energy and Resources team. The successful candidate would have opportunities to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world. This role would provide an opportunity to be a part of a diverse team while focusing on technical growth. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate that can lead work related to design Sub Stations and other heavy industrial infrastructure.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. As a registered Professional Engineer, you will be responsible to work on various industrial projects. This role involves structural engineering design and analysis under minimal supervision. You would be relied on to make sound structural engineering decisions, and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities
* You are expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture and in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.
* Perform structural design and analysis to applicable codes. Typical structures include heavy industrial/energy infrastructure steel structures and concrete foundations. The work would primarily support power distribution and substation design projects.
* Develop designs through sketches, hand calculations, structural analysis software models
* Work with Engineers and Designers on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client's needs and requests.
* Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute projects per the project plan.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to EITs and designers as part of their professional development, while taking an active role in your own career development.
* Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects within Stantec's quality control guidelines.
* Prepare and coordinate project specifications including construction documents.
* Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or clients.
* Travel to local project sites as needed.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
As the ideal candidate, you have/are:
* Registered P. E. in at least one state in the Western United States and the ability to get registered in additional states.
* Strong communication, coordination, and time management skills.
* Self-starter with ability to work independently.
* Ability to apply practical knowledge and make sound judgement to analyze issues, interpret information and select methods and solutions to resolve design problems within stand practice guidelines. Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.). Knowledge of specific codes and standards related to substation design such as ASCE MOP 113 2nd Edition, IEEE 693, IEEE 605 is an asset.
* Skills to manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
* Experience in project team setting and engaging in creative and critical thinking.
* Enthusiastic to expand structural engineering knowledge and keen to work in a team environment.
* Willingness to work on multiple jobs/projects at a time.
* Knowledge of and ability to use industry standard structural analysis software suites (STAAD.Pro or RISA 3D, etc.), and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of mathematical computational tools such as MathCad and the ability to perform detailed structural calculations within this environment.
* Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience working or projects related to power transmission and distribution, specifically substations.
* Willingness to travel to client sites and other Stantec offices.
* Field experience is a strong asset.
Education and Experience
* A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural.
* A Master's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural is preferred.
* Registered Professional Engineer in the Western United States with 6 to12 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on industrial infrastructure.
