Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.). Knowledge of specific codes and standards related to substation design such as ASCE MOP 113 2nd Edition, IEEE 693, IEEE 605 is an asset. * Skills to manage time to meet project budget and schedule. * Experience in project team setting and engaging in creative and critical thinking. * Enthusiastic to expand structural engineering knowledge and keen to work in a team environment. * Willingness to work on multiple jobs/projects at a time. * Knowledge of and ability to use industry standard structural analysis software suites (STAAD.Pro or RISA 3D, etc.), and Microsoft Office Suite. * Knowledge of mathematical computational tools such as MathCad and the ability to perform detailed structural calculations within this environment. * Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills. * Experience working or projects related to power transmission and distribution, specifically substations. * Willingness to travel to client sites and other Stantec offices. * Field experience is a strong asset. Education and Experience * A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural. * A Master's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural is preferred. * Registered Professional Engineer in the Western United States with 6 to12 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on industrial infrastructure. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
