All positions are part-time and located in the Cobb County PARKS Department and may be filled as a Lifeguard or Lifeguard/Instructor, depending upon qualifications. The water skills will be the pre-requisite for the lifeguarding class if the applicant isn't certified. Applicants may be asked to complete the water skills as part of the interview process. Applicants must pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking lifeguarding courses. The water skills test consist of the following: * 300-yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke * Two-minute tread using legs only * The ability to retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft. deep, surface and swim 20 yds. with the weight using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds Multiple positions are available at the following locations: * Central Aquatics * West Cobb Aquatics * Mountain View Aquatics * South Cobb Aquatics Lifeguard: $17.00/hr.
