teaching people of all ages how to be safer and stronger in the water.
Qualifications
Qualifications Desired:
1 Year of experience teaching swim lessons OR a competitive swimming background OR a passion for teaching children

Instruction & Student Development
Teach swimming skills in accordance with the Saf-T-Swim Swim School curriculum in a fun and engaging manner.
Provide continuous, positive, and constructive feedback to students and parents on progress and achievements.
Structure class time effectively to maximize learning through repetition, reinforcement, and the introduction of new skills.
Track and document students' skill progression daily to ensure consistent improvement and proper class placement.
Conduct monthly "Splash n' Tell" sessions to provide individualized feedback to parents.
Safety & Class Management
Ensure swimmer safety at all times by following safety requirements laid out in the curriculum, maintain constant supervision and enforce safety guidelines.
Maintain class structure and organization, ensuring smooth transitions and efficient use of lesson time.
Report any safety concerns or incidents to management immediately.
Operational Excellence
Maintain proper use and organization of equipment to ensure timely class start and end times.
Communicate class updates, student progress, and any changes to management to keep class records accurate.
Adhere to Saf-T-Swim uniform standards as outlined in the employee handbook.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
Evaluates students' progress and completes required documentation in a timely manner
Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students' swim skills
Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
Assists with setting up the pool prior to lessons and cleaning up after lessons, including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
Job Requirements and Skills:
No experience is necessary. With paid training provided, this is a great job for recent high school graduates and/or college students.
Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider is a plus!
Must pass background examinations (included with training).

What you will do

What you'll be doing
You're joining a team in a fast paced summer camp environment. Most of what you will be responsible for is listed below but roles and discrete tasks can change. At Co-Op you will do much of these tasks:
Facilitate play based learning experiences that help children learn critical swimming skills based on water swim instruction principles
Assess students during the initial week of camp
Organize and differentiate swim groups using initial assessment indicators
Place campers in correct swim environment based upon swimming ability
Ensure the safety of all students during swim instruction
Coordinate with the Co-Op Director to keep the swim program schedule running on time and effectively for counselors, staff and children alike
Organize and manage counselors to facilitate safety for children and to promote maximum swim time for all children
Organize and maintain all pool materials and equipment
Supervise lifeguards and insure that they conduct all of their duties including but not limited to
required buddy checks
maintaining all safety standards
Provide director with weekly reports of the swim program with suggestions for improvements to maximize the swim experience for all children
Provide director with a final report of the swim program to be part of the overall Co-Op Quality Assessment review
Participate fully in orientation experiences and weekly staff meetings
What you bring

Your Typical Responsibilities:
Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).

Track and document students' skill progression daily to ensure consistent improvement and proper class placement.
Conduct monthly "Splash n' Tell" sessions to provide individualized feedback to parents.
Safety & Class Management
Ensure swimmer safety at all times by following safety requirements laid out in the curriculum, maintain constant supervision and enforce safety guidelines.
Maintain class structure and organization, ensuring smooth transitions and efficient use of lesson time.
Report any safety concerns or incidents to management immediately.
Operational Excellence
Maintain proper use and organization of equipment to ensure timely class start and end times.
Communicate class updates, student progress, and any changes to management to keep class records accurate.
Adhere to Saf-T-Swim uniform standards as outlined in the employee handbook.

Weekdays, weeknights, and weekends required

Reports to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
Requirements
CPR/AED and First Aid for Adult, Child, and Infant Certification or
(must be obtained within
the first 90 days of employment; training available)
Completion of Saf-T-Swim curriculum training within the first 30 days of employment
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Comfortable working in and around water for extended periods
Comfortable working with children for extended periods
Prior swim experience is preferred
