Part-time Description SEASONALITY Swim lessons are offered year-round, with varying dates of individual swim sessions offered. Work will not be available during breaks in individual swim sessions for this role. Work may be available in another role upon inquiry. Job Description: We provide indoor, year-round swim instruction to our community that builds confidence and develops safety skills in a student-centered environment. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with students and fellow staff members. You should be someone who welcomes feedback and is a continuous learner. As a swim instructor, you will report to the Deck Supervisor or Administrative Coordinator during shifts and provide support throughout the pool deck as needed. The starting wage is negotiable with prior experience. This is a part-time position. Shifts are available between the hours Monday - Thursday 9 am-7 pm and Sunday 9 am-1:15 pm. Responsibilities: Make sure everyone is safe. Love and respect students while teaching them to swim. Be a team player who is consistently dependable and reliable. As an Aquatics Lifeguard, you must be safety minded and customer service oriented. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as "Dive in Movies" & "Poolapalooza." Job Duties and Responsibilities * Greets and interacts with Members * Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid * Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities * Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members Position Requirements * Working towards a High School Diploma or GED * Lifeguard and First Aid Certified * Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time * Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services * Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping * Ability to tread water for 1 minute * Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping * Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs Preferred Requirements * 6 months of customer service experience Pay This is an hourly position with wages starting at $17.50 and pays up to $20.50, based on experience and qualifications.
