The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, seeks candidates for an Inherited Cardiomyopathy Instructorship with a one year appointment to join its expanding Cardiology Division. The incumbents will be responsible for providing general, non-invasive, cardiovascular services, with an emphasis on inpatient and outpatient general cardiology. The candidates will actively participate in the teaching program with cardiology fellows and medical house staff. This position is designed to train multi-modality capable cardiologists who plan to go on to sub-specialize in the management of inherited cardiomyopathy syndromes at centers of excellence. As an Assistant Coach, you will be responsible for motivating children ages 5-17 years of age to participate in swim practice and compete on the Swim Team. * Assist in planning practice drills. * Assist in preparing swim meet line-up. * Assist in preparing and keeping swimmer records. * Help to maintain meet entries, swimmer time boards and a list of swimmers who miss each meet. * Assist in preparing and posting motivational games and challenges on the Swim Team bulletin board. * Help to prepare swimmers and staff for meets. * Teach swim classes on an as-needed basis. * Help new parents at meets by answering questions about what to expect. * Execute goals for the Swim Team as determined by The Sports Club and Head Swim Team Coach.
