REQUIREMENTS FOR SWIM INSTRUCTORS
As a swim instructor, you will teach students of all ages in accordance with the British Swim School aquatics program. Even if you are not an expert swim instructor, that's ok! We can train anyone on how to teach the way we teach, but here is what we do need from you.
You need to be a “swimmer”. Ideally, you have an understanding of all four strokes and an overall appreciation for the water. Prior swim team experience is preferred but not required.
You've got to love working with children and seeing them progress
You need to be upbeat and ready to enjoy having fun at work. Having fun is mandatory!
Be able to start weekdays at 3:00 pm
Reliable transportation to our Spring location
Current lifeguard certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment. Reimbursement is available after 6 months of employment with us.

The Role at a Glance
The Agency Instructor I will perform training for various specialty, skilled and/or semi-skilled courses, specifically Confined Space Entry, within the Water & Wastewater program. The instructor will utilize his/her knowledge of various adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. They will perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or may provide technical assistance in a specialty area while using a variety of media to present course material. The instructor may assist in creating new content or updating existing curriculum content, when necessary, to meet the learner's needs. The instructor is expected to maintain their technical competence and skills and will report to the Training Coordinator/Manager.
The purpose of this position is to perform instruction in proper confined space entry procedures and serve as a subject matter expert regarding confined spaces. In addition to instruction, duties will include delivery, set-up, and maintaining the confined space entry trailer as well as all the safety equipment within the trailer.
Qualifications of the Role
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
* Three years of hands-on experience in performing confined space entries.
* Three years of experience in the operation of, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
* Must have a valid Class "A" CDL or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment.
* Must have one of the following licenses: Texas Class "B" Water license, Texas Class "B" Wastewater license, Texas Class "B" Distribution license OR Texas Class III Collection license.
Equivalency: Will accept an Associate's degree with five years of relevant experience in confined space entry and five years in the operation of, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems or a high school diploma/GED with seven years of relevant experience in confined space entry and seven years in the operation of, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems. Must also meet TCEQ Sponsor Requirements.
TCEQ Sponsor Requirements
Experience must include one year of training adults, and 60 hours of classroom instruction OR completion of approved Instructor training courses in:
* Methods of Teaching OR Effective Instructional Techniques AND

The Role at a Glance
The Wage Agency Instructor (NCCER), under general supervision, is responsible for delivering scaffold training in accordance with NCCER standards and OSHA regulations. Responsible for utilizing knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. The instructor will conduct classroom instruction, hands-on-training, and assessments to ensure students gain the necessary skills for safe scaffold operations in construction and industrial settings.
This position reports to the Program Director, Business and Cyber Solutions.
Qualifications of the Role
High School Diploma or GED.
Five years of experience in scaffolding, construction, or industrial settings.
One year of adult education and/or training experience.
Must live in the Corpus Christi area and willing to travel to Rio Grande Valley area.
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Must hold NCCER certification in Scaffolding or ability to obtain certification.
Must hold OSHA certification (OSHA 10).
Equivalency: Will consider an associates degree and three years of experience or a bachelor's degree and one year of experience. Must also have one year of adult education and/or training experience.

The Role at a Glance
The Agency Instructor I will perform training for various specialty, skilled and/or semi-skilled courses, specifically Confined Space Entry, within the Water & Wastewater program. Qualifications of the Role

Must have a valid Class “A” CDL or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment.
