REQUIREMENTS FOR SWIM INSTRUCTORS As a swim instructor, you will teach students of all ages in accordance with the British Swim School aquatics program. Even if you are not an expert swim instructor, that's ok! We can train anyone on how to teach the way we teach, but here is what we do need from you. You need to be a “swimmer”. Ideally, you have an understanding of all four strokes and an overall appreciation for the water You've got to love working with children and seeing them progress You need to be upbeat and ready to enjoy having fun at work. Having fun is mandatory! This is a year-round position, and we are looking for longer-term employees. As a Neuroinclusive Swim Instructor, you will teach neurodivergent students about water safety and swimming techniques using our approved curriculum. The ideal candidate is a strong swimmer who enjoys working with children and has a positive attitude! Responsibilities Provide swim instruction based on approved curriculum. Enforce all safety guidelines and regulations Rescue swimmers needing assistance and administer First Aid and CPR when necessary. Visibly inspect pool and swimming areas for cleanliness and possible maintenance issues. Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment. Place and remove lane lines. Report accidents and incidents to management. Complete required documentation and paperwork. Complete all paperwork as it pertains to student records and progress reports. Must have a passion for the water and working with children. Experience as a certified lifeguard, swimming instructor, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is preferred. Ability to work in a positive way with a wide range of students with special needs and varying ages. Swimming experience preferred. First aid/CPR certified Positive attitude and friendly demeanor Willingness to receive training Strong swimming abilities preferred Physical, Chemical and Vision Requirements Must have ability perform the duties of a rigorous work schedule which includes lifting, loading, and unloading, and ability maneuver up to 50 lbs. Dependable motor vehicle transportation a must. Ability to work in and around swimming pools with exposure to chlorinated and chemically treated water. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform.
