Summary of Job Duties:The College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks applicants for a part-time faculty position in the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition located at the UAMS campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, resourceful individual to contribute to an established, high-quality program that enjoys strong institutional and community support. The Instructor will contribute to the Master of Science in Dietetics (MSDI) program by teaching courses, coordinating supervised practice rotations, mentoring students, and collaborating with faculty across campuses. The faculty position is a 12-month non-tenure track position at the rank of instructor. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications.
The Department of Dietetics and Nutrition houses two academic programs: Master of Science Dietetics Internship (MSDI) and Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition (MSCN). The MSCN program is offered 100% online.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics required.
At least three (3) years of clinical experience.
Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Certification.
Experience precepting dietetic supervised practice rotations.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to identify and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of recent post-certification clinical experience
Demonstrated university teaching proficiency in dietetics and nutrition
Experience as a graduate program coordinator
Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains relationships with clinical partners.
Secures and manages clinical site placements.
Ensures that all placements meet program accreditation standards and learning objectives.
Teaches graduate courses within the MSCN and MSDI programs.
Advises students, supporting their applied research or capstone projects, and contributing service to the college, university, community, and the nutrition profession.
