Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided.
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.
Uniforms:Instructors are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include logoed female one piece suits and male board shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will cover 50% of the cost of one uniform per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach group and private/semi-private swim lessons to beginner through advanced swim students.
Modify swim lessons to adapt to each swim students age and swim level.
Maintain timeliness with each swim lesson and follow pool schedule closely.
Write individual evaluations for each swimmer in the swim class and discuss student progress with guardians.
Open and close the pool, depending on shift time, following protocol outlined in the Staff Manual.
Caution participants regarding safe vs. unsafe behaviors; enforce all safety protocols.
Rescue participants in danger of drowning; administer first-aid/CPR if required.
Complete accident reports thoroughly if accidents occur and follow protocol outlined in Staff Manual.
Substitute for coworkers as needed.
Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet scheduling needs.
Support the emotional and social wellbeing of swim students through positive behavior management and supportive interactions.
Follow all emergency procedures at the SJCC.
Attend required staff training and meetings.

As a swim instructor at British Swim School, you will teach students of all ages in accordance with the British Swim School aquatics program. This is a year-round position, and we are looking for longer-term employees. This is not a summer job.

Being a swim instructor, you will be provided the training to teach swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3-months old, following the British Swim School aquatics program that is gentle, fun, and progressive. Your Typical Responsibilities:
Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager.
Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, or in the process of completion.

Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.

Enforce pool rules and regulations.

Respond to emergency situations per the emergency action plan.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age.

A Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field, Education, or a humanities field, or equivalent experience, ideally related to math and/or language arts.
Possess strong content knowledge in math, reading, writing, and grammar
Classroom teaching experience at the K-5 level is preferred
Experience teaching or tutoring students
Not Required:
A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.
Schedule (Academic Year):
AoPS Academy is an afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.
This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes.
Schedule (Summer):
During the summer, we offer multiple two-week camps between June - August.
Camp classes are held Monday-Friday for 3 hours a day, with both morning and afternoon classes.
Campus Location:
This is an in-person position at our Redmond campus location
Candidates must be located in Redmond, WA or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.
