Swim Instructors will deliver a safe and excellent customer service experience to our residents, members and patrons while enforcing and adhering to existing policies and procedures. The Swim Instructor position will work cooperatively with all Aquatics and facility personnel to promote customer satisfaction with programs and facilities with effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Group Lesson Instructors and Private Swim Lesson Instructors act as public relations representative for the Aquatics Department and The Center of Clayton. Staff will inform supervisor of all positive and negative information regarding the physical facility, aquatics staff or general public. Swim Instructors will monitor attendance policies and keep patrons abreast of class information and registration deadlines. As well as, ensure program safety by monitoring class area and notifying program supervisor of any maintenance or safety concerns, as well as documentation of accidents or incidents. Swim Instructors may utilize program equipment and supplies and creatively develop new uses for enhancing swim instruction and are encouraged to secure and maintain any discipline-specific certifications necessary. Swim Instructors for both Group Lessons and Private Lessons must attend all staff meetings or training sessions as required. Swim Instructor Job Qualifications - Must be knowledgeable in swimming technique and teaching skills with strong communication skills. Minimum of 1 year experience working in aquatic environment, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is preferred. Swim Instructors must have availability every Monday evening 4:45-8pm, Wednesday evening 4:45-8pm or every Saturday from 9:00am-12:00pm. Options are available for year round or summer only positions.
