Summary/Objective
The TaxAssociate is responsible for the efficient, accurate preparation and timely completion of a variety of individual and business returns with direction and assistance. Individuals must possess the basic principles and techniques of accounting; along with a developing set of critical thinking skills.
Essential Functions
Utilizes basic research skills and works with tax software to complete simple tax returns for review. Assists with tax planning, projections, and other client deliverables.
Performs research to respond to tax inquires and special projects to assure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Assists in the maintenance of tax records, tax forms, and reporting preparation.
Demonstrates knowledge of basic principles, techniques and concepts of accounting.
Takes personal responsibility to complete a task, project or assignment - start to finish. Is concerned with individual productivity and setting achievable goals.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Mandatory overtime hours during our two busy seasons (February 15- April 15 and Aug 15- October 15).
Travel
Occasional same-day travel using a personal vehicle for work at client's offices, meetings, and out-of-town travel with an overnight stay for seminars.
