Local CPA firm, located in San Jose, California, is actively seeking a highly motivated CPA. Broad knowledge and hands on experience with tax preparation, planning, and accounting is necessary. Responsibilities can include: · Prepare and review Federal and State individual, corporate, partnership, trust, exempt organization, and estate tax returns
· Perform and review compilations of small to mid-size businesses
· Manage client engagements
· Tax planning and research
· Assist in tax controversy matters, including government audits
· Understand and track tax deadlines and maintain client tax compliance
· Review client payroll and sales tax returns as needed
· Perform additional duties and projects as requested by clients and management
Qualifications:
· 3+ years recent tax preparation experience
· Able to work independently and in a team
· Good client service skills
· Ability to multitask and prioritize a number of client accounts
· Strong written and oral communications skills
· Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, etc.)
· Experience with Thomson CS Professional Suite (Ultra Tax, FileCabinet, etc.) and PPC Checkpoint a plus
