The Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O., PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide supervision of other staff.

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic (CPAP, BIPAP) polysomnography, MSLT and MWT.

* Oversees, processes, and directs day-to-day work performance related to payment posting, banking, lock box, mail, refunds, and reconciliations.
* Pro-actively works with the CBO Payment Supervisors in identifying and resolving issues to assure high quality, efficient, cost-effective services consistent with the needs to the organization.
* Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting area of responsibility and makes recommendations for changes to ensure compliance. Actively pursues inconsistencies and/or inaccuracies in coding and/or billing and appropriately brings to the attention of the CBO Payment Supervisor.
* Promotes a positive, professional image and represents The Iowa Clinic and Physician Management Resources both internally and externally. Promotes positive interpersonal relations and serves as a role model with all personnel.
