Trinity Yachts company history timeline

1988

When Trinity Industries, comprised of Halter Marine, Equitable (the Higgins shipyard) and Moss Point Marina, started looking for new markets in 1988, John Dane and marketing genius Billy Smith stepped up to the challenge.

1995

The division joined forces in 1995 with Victory Lane Enterprises, owned by Felix Sabates, Jr.

2006

Extensively refit with quality interiors and electronics, she was repowered in 2006 with twin Caterpillar diesel 3412 engines that let her cruise at 15 knots.

2008

The 50 meter Trinity Norwegian Queen was built in 2008 for Lynn Insurance Group owner Christine Lynn (who was born in Norway).

2009

In 2009 SuperYachtFan in its current format was published online and soon the focus changed from ‘yacht photos’ to ‘yacht owners’, creating the Super Yacht Owners Register.

2013

Trinity Yachts was started on the site of the former Equitable Shipyards, on France Road, on the west side of the Industrial Canal, in New Orleans, in a wholly enclosed facility within the yard. It later reopened the New Orleans facility and in 2013 it moved back there, turning the Gulfport shipyard over to a new entity called, at first, Trinity Offshore, then TY Offshore and later Gulf Coast Shipyard Group: see its construction record here.

2015

Later in 2015, Harvey announced that Trinity Yachts and the New Orleans facility were for sale.

2016

Trinity’s latest launch is the 59 meter (193 ft) yacht Imagine, which was delivered in 2016.
