The Opportunity As a Software Engineer I on the Client Platform team, you'll contribute to the foundation that powers PlayStation's cross-platform experiences. This team builds the core application framework, shared libraries, and foundational components that other product and feature teams rely on to deliver PlayStation experiences to millions of users worldwide. You'll work with senior engineers to design and maintain the underlying systems that make PlayStation applications fast, scalable, and consistent across environments - giving other teams the tools and flexibility to innovate. Responsibilities Implement and test React-based core components and platform modules used across multiple PlayStation applications. Collaborate with senior engineers to design APIs, services, and reusable libraries that enable feature teams to move faster and maintain consistency. Participate in code reviews, contribute to documentation, and help evolve the team's development standards. Support build, packaging, and release processes to ensure smooth integration with downstream teams. Learn and apply system-level thinking to balance reliability, scalability, and developer experience. Engage in team-driven innovation efforts like Hackathons and Café Days to explore new tools and technologies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 0-2 years of experience developing applications or systems using JavaScript/TypeScript. Understanding of React and component-driven architecture. Interest in cross-platform development and building frameworks that integrate with native system capabilities. Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn from experienced engineers. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with modern build and testing tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel, Jest). Understanding of modular design patterns, API contracts, and dependency management. Experience with RESTful services, GraphQL, or similar data layers. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks. Curiosity about AI-assisted development, intelligent tooling, or developer productivity technologies.
