Job Description TRANSPORTATION DRIVER Under general supervision, the Transportation Driver for PACE Southeast Michigan performs activities related to the transportation of program participants, and or medical supplies, to and from the program site and other facilities as directed. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Maintains established departmental and system policies and procedures and objectives, including but not limited to the following: Quality Assurance Program Safety Environmental Infection Control Standards Transports program participants to and from the program site or other assigned areas, as directed by the transportation supervisor or manager. Assists the program participants to and from the vehicle, to the participants' residence or the center in a safe manner, using the appropriate assistive devices as necessary. Participates in all scheduled education programs, in-services, or staff meetings as directed. Utilizes safe and appropriate body mechanics, and transfer techniques when providing transportation services to program. Responsible for properly securing wheelchairs and safety belts for wheelchair participants. Performs other related duties as necessary, assigned or requested by the transportation supervisor or manager. Some of these extra duties include the following: Maintenance of the buses-adding oil to the motor, adding brake fluid, windshield wiper fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, putting air in tires, charging bus battery if bus won't start, as well as, gassing bus and dropping off/picking up bus for repair. Cleaning of bus-this includes extermination & disinfection of bus after contamination of bed bugs and bodily fluids such as vomit, urine, and feces. Other responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the delivery of: All medication on a daily basis (average of 125 meds/supplements a day such as ensure, Pedialyte, frozen meals, diapers, syringes, gauze, etc). Drivers are held responsible if these items are not delivered. After a participant is deceased, drivers are responsible for picking up any items that belong to PACE or any items the family may choose to donate. Job Description GENERAL PUPOSE: To provide transportation to Clawson Seniors age 55+ and those with disabilities for medical appointments, grocery shopping, our in-house lunch and special programs, for local errands, such as to the bank, pharmacy, post office, therapy, etc. as well as occasional mall shopping trips, movies, restaurants outings, and other trips scheduled through the Senior Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Drive Senior Center bus or car, providing door to door transportation to Clawson's senior and disabled population. Make sure that all persons are inside their destination before leaving. Assist passengers in getting on and off the van including wheelchair bound individuals, using lift and securing chair in the vehicle. Collect transportation fees and turn in daily to Director of Recreation and Senior Services. May assist with packages or groceries. Requires flexible work hours; dependent on clients' needs, unanticipated lengthy appointments and occasional special events. Review daily transportation schedule with dispatcher. Must adhere to all driving policies provided by the State of Michigan Attend trainings on passenger sensitivity, wheelchair securement, and CPR. Report actual mileage, gas usage, and number of clients served to Dispatcher. Keeps daily routine check on vehicle (including, but not limited to : tires, gas, oil, chair lift function.) Report any maintenance problems, concerns or incidences to Director of Recreation and Senior Services for follow up. Must undergo random drug and alcohol screening. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Driver is responsible for transporting clients to and from various medical appointments and other appointments as needed. The Driver completes assignments and all paperwork in a timely fashion. DUTIES Responsible for transporting individuals with and without disabilities to various locations. This would include picking them up at their residence, driving them to their required location and picking them back up to take them to their residence. Responsible to review and check transportation schedule before departure and to bring to the attention of dispatch and/or the coordinator any issues or concerns Performs vehicle inspections and maintenance. This includes ensuring the vehicles have the appropriate amount of gas, oil, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, and that the handicap accessibility equipment is functional. Cleans the interior and exterior of the TSA vehicle as needed and directed. Notifies manager when the vehicle is in need of repair or service. Maintains a driving log and keeps track of mileage on the TSA vehicle. Inspects and completes an inspection form before departure and/or when changing vehicles. Ensures that safety equipment is on-board and vehicle including tires are in good operating condition. Makes copies and properly files all completed driver's reports, transportation requests, and vehicle inspection forms.
