Job Description
The Dayton Daily News, Springfield News-Sun, and Journal-News media brands, which are part of Cox First Media, have openings for internship positions for summer 2026.
The work is located in southwest Ohio and will be based out of one of our three newsrooms - Dayton, Springfield or Hamilton. Work assignments will be determined after final selection based on the intern's abilities and stated interests and newsroom needs.
Each paid internship is approximately 20 hours per week for 10 weeks. The exact start and stop dates, as well as the intern's weekly schedule, will be determined before the internship begins based on the intern's needs and company needs.
Assignments may include but are not limited to:
Producing multiple stories per week in a fast-paced environment. Interns will be assigned to an editor who will guide their assignments and provide coaching and training about approaching their stories.
Creating and delivering digital content, which could include digital stories focused on speed and accuracy.
Producing photos and videos to help tell your own stories or in collaboration with other content producers.
Promoting our content through social media, website placement and email newsletters.
Working with other parts of our operation for exposure to our business, including marketing.

Design Intern
This is a paid internship providing up to 40 hours which can begin May 12, 2026, and extend through August 14, 2026. This is a part in-office (Salt Lake City, Utah) and part remote position.

We are currently looking for a person who is an energetic self-starter to join our team as a Graphic Design Intern. In this position you will be expected to assist with a wide variety of design, advertising, and support activities.
Internship Job Responsibilities:
Develop creative design solutions that address specific client goals to include:
Designing physical assets for branding and identity materials to include logo design, style guides, signage, and other printed collateral.
Creating digital assets for social, email, displays/banners, websites, and other interactive elements.
Creating materials as part of large-scale experiences and events.
Producing and prepare presentations as requested for both client and internal use.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with copywriters, account services and development teams.
Take personal ownership/accountability for independently getting assigned projects completed well and on time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in graphic design, advertising, or similar field in progress (please note the full-time hours of this position) or recent graduate (up to one year from graduation)
Current portfolio of creative work
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud products, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Additional proficiency in Figma and/or After Effects is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to be a team player, accepting and implementing feedback from both team members and clients

Her Campus is seeking a creative, efficient, organized, detail-oriented Culture & Style Intern for the spring 2026 semester. The ideal candidate has a passion for pop culture and how it intersects with fashion and beauty, and has their finger on the pulse of what's trending in the Entertainment and Style worlds. The Culture & Style Intern may assist the editorial team with all things editorial-related: writing and editing entertainment and fashion and beauty articles, working on larger editorial projects and packages, interviewing talent and expert sources, and creating and optimizing SEO and e-commerce content, among other projects. This role will also be given timely writing assignments for the Entertainment, Fashion, and Beauty sections and more, and will be expected to work on tight deadlines and turnarounds. You will be given high-level tasks and a lot of responsibility! This internship is remote.
