Personnel Management

The Assessment Clinician has initial contact with referral sources and potential patients. The Assessment Clinician coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Qualifications
We train you to be the best, but there are a few minimum requirements for this position:
Education
* Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Human Services field, with at least two years crisis experience; Registered Nurse; LCSW/LPCC/LMFT preferred.
Experience
* Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
* Three years' experience and knowledge in the area of mental health.
Certifications/Licensure
* Human Services related field; Must be eligible for supervision if not independently licensed
* Current RN License, if applicable.
* Crisis Intervention, CPR, and Assessing & Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) required. These trainings will be offered upon hire.
Other Skills

* Consistently communicates within boundaries of confidentiality policies and procedures regarding employee specific information.
* Records and routes telephone and in-person messages accurately, completely, and promptly.
* Meets with Payroll Accountant to edit Kronos regarding employee time reporting.
* Collaborates with Payroll Accountant to ensure that all Kronos forms are adjusted in the Kronos system.
* Ensures that all Kronos forms are signed by the Nurse Manager, CNO, and the CFO.
* Audits daily Kronos reports for accuracy.

Job Duties include:
* Accurately and timely completes the following duties: new patient admissions, assessment, orders, treatment plan, property inventory, nutritional screening, progress note, patient education, safe and efficient medication administration.
* Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
* Uses appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture.
