RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direction ensure that the activities of this program and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Secretariat for Catholic Charities Health and Human Services and Catholic Charities Services Corporation. Act as an advocate for clients. Act as a positive role model for clients. Coordinate recreational programming as needed. Escort clients on field trips. Assist with set up, tidying area, serving lunch and some stocking of supplies. Maintain a clean work area and equipment as assigned. Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils and equipment as needed. Assist in lunch preparation in the kitchen as needed, heating food, and preparing it for distribution to the seniors. Transport clients in company vehicles as deemed appropriately to meet program goals. Check all headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, hazard lights, and tires, exhaust system, hand brake, etc., to verify safety systems of the assigned vehicle are in proper working order. Maintain records indicating date, items inspected, defects noted, repair dates, etc. Notify Supervisor when there are problems with the facility and program vehicles. Secure company vehicles after every use. Assist with preparation and set-up for special events. Remove trash from senior dining room areas as needed. Perform other duties as assigned or directed. Requirements: Must have good written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire. Must be able to read and write English.     The Facilities Repair Worker-Advanced is responsible for facility maintenance which includes preventive maintenance and minor repair of equipment and building components (i.e. walls, flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, and furnishings) and general grounds maintenance (i.e. snow plowing, landscaping, and lawn care). The position provides supervision and training of residents in mechanical maintenance and repair work assignments. This position requires the ability to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding or hydraulic lifts. Also, the ability to work under unpleasant conditions such as dirty and dusty areas, extreme cold/heat and small or confined spaces. Moderate to heavy lifting will be required. The Facilities Repair Worker-Advanced will be required to attend in-service and trainings and be available to respond to emergency call-ins when the need arises. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 03-12 with a starting pay of $23.69/hour. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code. A twelve-month probationary period is required.
